J.J. Spaun claimed his second Valero Texas Open title in 2026 after seeing off Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre at the weather-hit, stop and start event.
The American first won the title back in 2022, which was his first on the PGA TOUR after his 147th start. Since then he has become a major winner claiming the 2025 US Open at Oakmont Country Club.
His best finish in a major prior to 2025 was T23 at The Masters in 2022.
His 2025 season started impressively and after losing out to Rory McIlroy in a playoff at The Players Championship he joined the Major winners circle – being the only player to finish under par and winning by two from, yet again, Robert MacIntyre.
He followed this up with an impressive Ryder Cup debut and secured his third PGA Tour victory at the Valero Texas Open 2026 – this time pipping Robert MacIntyre, Michael Kim and Matt Wallace by one stroke.
Though a Srixon staffer he chooses to game the Titleist GT3 driver and the TaylorMade Qi10 fairway woods.
He then switches to Srixon for his irons, Cleveland wedges and Srixon ball.
His putter of choice is the interesting looking L.A.B putter.
