Few athletes in British sport are as relentlessly competitive as Andy Murray.
Three Grand Slams (inc being Wimbledon Champion twice), two Olympic gold medals and years spent battling the very best in tennis have already cemented him as one of Britain’s greatest sportsmen – but retirement has opened the door to a new sporting obsession; golf.
The Scotsman is not the only high-profile tennis player to take up an interest in golf. The two-time Wimbledon winner is amongst his fellow tennis stars including Carlos Alvarez and Rafael Nadal in swapping the tennis racket for a set of golf clubs in his spare time.
Murray recently became a Callawya ambassador last year. Here’s a closer look at which of their clubs he is using in his pursuit to become a scratch handicapper…

What’s in Andy Murray’s bag?
At the top of his bag, Murray has the Callaway Quantum Max driver in play. It is one of the newer models the brand has released with the line-up making its debut in 2026.
Our NCG review team found it to be a fast, modern looking driver that is a revert to type for one of the biggest brands in golf.

The former tennis world number one has a slightly different model for his three-wood. He opts to use the Triple Diamond from the same range which is a slightly lowing spinning model. He puts this switch down to giving himself another option off the tee.
The top of Murray’s bag is rounded-up with the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond seven-wood, which he predominantly uses off the deck.
in terms of his irons, the Scotsman uses a set of Callaway Apex TCBs from a four to a nine-iron. He made the switch back to these, despite being a few years old, because of the extra bit of height and control he is able to command with them in the bag.

Interestingly, he has swapped out the standard pitching wedge from the Callaway Apex TCB irons set for a specialty one, after failing to feel comfortable using it. He instead uses a 46° Callaway Opus SP.
Murray’s wedge set-up is complete with two more Opus SP offerings in the S-Grind, with the 54° he most used out of the lot.
Last by no means least is his Odyssey Ai-One Jailbird Mini putter. A mallet offering and one that is very popular on tour.
