The final round of the Masters is so exciting. The build-up of the story on Saturday, the build-up in the morning and throughout the afternoon, if you’re watching from the United Kingdom.

The countdown to the last group teeing off begins as soon as you get out of bed, but there can be plenty of movers and shakers in the groups that closely precede the final pairing at Augusta National.

We had an absolute grandstand finish lined up at the 2025 Masters. Rory McIlroy led Bryson DeChambeau by two shots, and the rest were at least two shots behind. We had Pinehurst Part Two, LIV vs the PGA Tour and we had Europe vs the USA.

McIlroy saw off DeChambeau’s challenge by the time they reached the 12th hole, but of course, it was Justin Rose who eventually almost came between McIlroy and the grand slam. The Northern Irishman beat his Ryder Cup teammate in a playoff.

In 2026, McIlroy now finds himself tied for the lead on 11-under par with American Cam Young, having led by six shots at the halfway stage. These two will make up the final pairing on Masters Sunday.
