Albane Valenzuela is one of the leading Swiss players in the game of golf, appearing in her first Solheim Cup in 2024.
Valenzuela was born to Mexican and French parents in New York City in December 1997, becoming a Swiss citizen at the age of 14 in 2012. She had a successful amateur career, which included four years at Stanford University. She was a two-time runner-up in the US Women’s Amateur, as well as finishing runner-up in the European Ladies Amateur Championship.
Although she does not yet have a professional title to her name, Valenzuela has played in three Olympic Games (with a best of T13 in Paris) and a top-five finish in a major championship. That came at the 2023 Chevron Championship. Her performances over the course of 2024 saw her picked for the Solheim Cup for the first time at the end of that year.
