Thompson will be the seventh female golfer to ever tee it up on the PGA Tour, following in the footsteps of Brittany Lincicome, Michelle Wie West, Suzy Whaley, Annika Sorenstam, Shirley Spork and Babe Didrikson Zaharias.

Who else is in the field, how can you watch and how much prize money is on offer? Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s tournament.

When is the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open?

2023 Shriners Children's Open

Tom Kim is the defending champion at this year’s Shriners Children’s Open with the South Korean recording a four-shot victory over Patrick Cantlay and Matthew NeSmith to claim his second PGA Tour title.

Other notable entrants include former Players Championship winners Webb Simpson and Si Woo Kim, while a host of former PGA Tour winners including Stewart Cink, Tom Hoge, and Emiliano Grillo will tee it up.

Ludvig Aberg will continue his rise after narrowly missing out on his first PGA Tour title at last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship at the Country Club of Jackson.

Through his 4-iron to Gap Wedge, Matthew uses the Ping i500 irons accompanied by Ping’s Glide 3.0 56-degree and 60-degree wedges.

Another club that has stood the test of time in his bag is a Nike Method Core MC-3i putter which has had to have the SuperStroke grip changed at least three times. Ball of choice is the Titleist ProV1.
