Which players have the most wins in a golf season on each top professional circuit? Let’s dive in and take a look

most wins in a golf season

We have been blessed with a small but superb group of serial winners in professional golf this year.

Scottie Scheffler won seven times on the PGA Tour, the official number of a haul that included the Masters and one that didn’t recognise the Olympic Gold Medal which he won in Paris. Xander Schauffele has also enjoyed huge success this year by winning the PGA Championship and The Open.

Nelly Korda won six times in the space of seven tournaments on the LPGA Tour in 2024 and much like Scheffler, became a two-time major winner by picking up the Chevron Championship trophy.  She became the first player since Inbee Park to win six times in a season and the first American to do this since Beth Daniel in 1990.

Lydia Ko has also won on her last two starts. The superstar, born in South Korea but representing New Zealand, won her third major title at the AIG Women’s Open on the Old Course at St Andrews in August and added the Kroger Queen City Championship title thereafter.

And then we have Helen Briem. The German teenager won her first Ladies European Tour title at the end of September at the La Sella Open, which added to her four wins in the LET Access Series in 2024.

The 19-year-old was playing in her first event as a LET pro and she built quite the record this year in which she also won the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship. In 2023, she won the Girls Amateur Championship at Ganton.

So given Briem’s success and the ongoing dominance of many other professionals in the sport, we thought we’d delve into the archives and discover which players have recorded the most wins in golf’s main tours in a single season, beginning with the incredible Byron Nelson.
