The famous amateur event takes place at Lahinch Golf Club, Ireland, but when can you watch it and how?

Walker Cup

The 51st edition of amateur golf’s Ryder Cup gets underway this weekend, which pits 10 of the best amateurs from Great Britain and Ireland against their American counterparts in the biennial contest that has launched the careers of some of the greatest golfers in history.

The United States have won the last five Walker Cups, most recently triumphing 17-9 at Cypress Point last year. Dean Robertson and Nathan Smith return to their roles as captain for GB&I and USA, respectively.

The tournament will head to Ireland this year, with Lahinch Golf Club making its debut as tournament host. It’s an event not to be missed, and NCG breaks down how you can make the most of the Walker Cup TV coverage available from County Clare.
