Is someone from your golf club playing at DP World Tour Q-School this week?

156 players are competing at DP World Tour Q-School starting this week. Some of them might be attached to your golf club…

For some players, DP World Tour Q-School started back in August at Le Vaudreuil in France and The Players Club in Bristol.

Now, at the start of November, the final stage at Infinitum in Spain is about to begin and will end six days and six rounds later. Brutal, isn’t it?

156 players will compete to make the cut after four rounds, then fight tooth and nail to finish tied for 15th or better, which earns them Category 18 status for the DP World Tour in 2027.

That could provide between 15 and 24 starts next season, based on the opportunities afforded to last year’s graduates.

The stakes are even higher this year, too. The number of DP World Tour cards available at Q-School has been reduced from 20 and ties to 15 and ties, as part of changes to the tour’s membership structure.

The idea is to provide greater certainty over playing opportunities for those who earn their cards, but that won’t make the task any easier for the players trying to get through.

The final stage takes place from November 6 to 11, with players competing across the Lakes and Hills courses at Infinitum in Tarragona. Everyone will play two rounds on each course before the cut falls after 72 holes, with the top 60 and ties progressing to the final two rounds on the Lakes Course.

Even those who miss out on a DP World Tour card have something to play for, with different categories of HotelPlanner Tour membership available depending on where they finish.

There are 21 DP World Tour winners in the field, including former Ryder Cup player Ross Fisher, six-time winner Thomas Pieters and nine-time winner Pablo Larrazábal. England’s Daniel Gavins and Dale Whitnell are also among those hoping to regain their playing privileges.

Put simply, it’s a high-stakes event that is presumably far more fun to watch than participate. It’s the watching that many of us enjoy. Tracking players that you’ve followed all season, and even players that represent your golf club on tour. That is where I wanted to reach with this column.

ALSO: Q School would be more exciting to watch than 90% of golf tournaments. It has to be televised from now on

There is something particularly satisfying about seeing a player from your own club making their way in the professional game. Perhaps you’ve played alongside them, watched them practising on the range or seen their name on the honours board.

I have made a list of the players from Great Britain and Ireland who have entered the final stage of DP World Tour Q-School this year, along with the clubs they are attached to.

Unfortunately, there are no Welsh players to speak of in 2026. This list is predominantly made up of English players, albeit some of them without an attached club.

Have a look below. You might recognise a name or two, or even discover that someone representing your club is just a week away from playing on the DP World Tour.
