I should start this review by saying I am a huge FootJoy fan, and the Premiere Series have been my go-to shoe for years. When the 2025 models were released, I made sure our Equipment Editor reserved this pair for me. Keep your hands off!

NCG SUMMARY
The nicest pair of FootJoy Premiere Series that I have ever owned. This was love at first sight – the old-school classic look, but packed with tech to make them extremely comfortable straight out of the box.

FootJoy Premiere Series Field LX 2025 golf shoe review: First Impressions
I instantly loved the look of the leather on this years model – a slightly grained ‘Bison texture’ and so, so soft to touch. The grey nubuck accent on the heel is a classy touch, adding a pop of colour.
I had never used the VersaTrax+ models before so was excited to test out the stability through full shots out on the course.
They just look so classy and if Keith Mitchell (Style Icon) wears them, then they will do for me.
NCG Verdict
I stepped onto the first tee in my new Field LX Premiere Series – a par 5 – so was hitting driver and the stability the shoe provided was very impressive. The ground was hard, but there was no sway or chance of slipping. Footjoy call this their ‘VersaTrax+ Traction Technology’.
They were also extremely comfortable, straight away. No break-in period required. The fit is ever so slightly on the larger size, so you could jump down half a size for a more snug fit.
I have since played three full rounds wearing the Field LX – one of which was in damper conditions – and my feet remained dry, as you’d expect from a premium leather waterproof shoe.
I think you can tell my feelings on the Footjoy Premiere Field LX: love, love, love.
