First Impressions
The Golvia Ultra gives the impression of a premium, well-built device right out of the box, with a comfortable grip and excellent optical clarity.
Its standout feature, SteadyTrack™ optical stabilization, promises quick and confident flag locking, while practical details like the AirTag holder and buggy magnet add to its user-friendly design.
The casing feels robust and durable while still looking smart in the bag.
I was keen to test it out to see if the features and performance were an improvement on the other two Vistaget models I had tested.
How I undertook the review
I am a member at Fulford Golf Club in York and so used this over two full rounds – one was a social round and the other was a medal round.
What I found
There is no doubt the SteadyTrack™ optical stabilisation makes locking onto the pin really quick and straightforward, and the little confirmation “ping” when it locks on is a nice touch that gives you confidence you’ve got the correct number.
The optics are excellent as well. Vision is really clear through the eyepiece and it’s comfortable to use, even when wearing sunglasses. It also sits nicely in the hand and feels well balanced during use.
I wasn’t fully able to judge how much difference the TrueSlope™ Engine made with the temperature, humidity and altitude adjustments as conditions were fairly mild during testing, but it’s an interesting feature and one that could become more useful in varying climates or when travelling to play abroad.

There are also some thoughtful practical additions. The built-in magnet is handy for attaching it to a buggy between shots, it uses a rechargeable battery
It even comes with a silicone holder for an AirTag which is a smart idea for keeping track of it.
NCG Final Verdict
Overall, this is a very easy rangefinder to get on with. Good optics, quick target acquisition and useful features combine to make it feel like a genuinely premium device.
How they compare to the other Vistaget Golvia golf rangefinders
Compared to the standard Golvia, the Ultra definitely feels more premium in both the optics and overall user experience, particularly with the addition of the SteadyTrack™ stabilisation. This makes flag locking noticeably quicker and smoother (and very satisfying)!
The Golvia Pro already offered strong performance, but the Ultra builds on that with more advanced environmental adjustment features (which I’m guessing work) and improved comfort through the oversized eyepiece. Plus, the practical touches like the AirTag holder are nice extras to have.
