First Impressions
Smart looking
Straight away, this is a really smart-looking golf bag. This bag comes with six different colour options. I tested it in gunmetal with Powakaddy’s signature yellow on the trims.
Pockets
This bag has plenty of pockets – there’s 9 of them. Two full length pockets are on either side as well as a velour lined valuables pocket, a cooler pocket and more. There is also a built-in umbrella holder, a towel holder and a scorecard holder on the front of the middle pocket.
Lightweight
It’s incredibly lightweight at just 2.3kg which is lighter than a lot of stand bags. It comes with one larger strap so that you can carry it easier if needing to take in/out of the house etc. A mesh pocket is also located on the back so you can store any extras.
How I undertook the review
I tested the golf bag while playing a full 18-hole round at the Brabazon Course at the Belfry, so I could see how it performs over a full round of golf.
I used it on a Powakaddy trolley to check how well it stayed stable and easy to use during play. I also got caught in some heavy rain and so could see how the waterproof features stood up!
What I found
Generally, I tend to stick to carry bags when I play, but do find in tournament golf they aren’t always that waterproof and it can be easy to run out of space. So I was eager to see what the Dri-Tech golf bag could offer.

Plenty of storage
As mentioned there was plenty of storage space in this bag so I didn’t need to skimp on what I was taking out on the course. It was nice to have the pockets on the front that were really easy to access as well as the larger ones on the side.
Mag lock system
I used this Dri-Tech bag on a Powakaddy trolley. These work together really well with the Mag Lock system, where the base of the bag slots into the trolley. This means that you don’t need a strap on the bottom to keep the bag in place. Throughout the whole round the bag was incredibly stable on the trolley – so not messing around readjusting. This isn’t unique to this bag as Powakaddy offers it on their whole range but it’s a great feature.
Club dividers and organisation
It comes with a 14-way divider for your clubs which keeps your clubs separated nicely and makes it very easy to find what club you want quickly. There is a larger divider at the top for your putter – which will fit the jumbo size putter grips.
Waterproofness
On the day of testing I managed to get caught out in the heavy downpour, great for testing the waterproof function of this bag. Its heat-welded coating with waterproof zipped pockets helped to keep any moisture out. Powakaddy state that this bag is up to four times more waterproof than most bags on the market.
Only negative
The only real downside I found with this bag was the waterproof bottle holder slots. There is two of them and they were very tight – a two hand job to squeeze the bottles in. This just meant that I couldn’t quickly slot my bottle in and it was a tighter fit than other bags I’ve tried.
NCG Final Say
Overall, this is a great lightweight cart bag option and one that stood up well during the rain so great for players who are willing to brave any weather conditions!
How it compares to other bags
It’s very much like the Cobra Ultralight pro golf bag which I have previously tested. I liked that they’re both not big and bulky like you’d find with the Motocaddy Pro series cart bag. It’s a much lighter waterproof fabric.
