Having not worn a neck warmer for some time on the golf course, the Performance Golf Neck Warmer constituted a pleasant surprise.

It isn’t usually part of my go-to Autumn/Winter wardrobe for the golf course, but it will be now.

The first thing I noticed was the soft, stretchy fabric that provides a snug fit without feeling restrictive.

It effectively traps heat, keeping my neck warm during chilly rounds, which greatly enhanced my overall experience.

The stretchy material allows for a comfortable fit, giving you freedom of movement during a round of golf.

The sleek, modern look blends well with various golf outfits, adding a touch of style to practicality.

Overall, the Puma Performance Golf Neck Warmer exceeded my expectations and is a must-have for any golfer facing the elements on the course!

  • Very good fit
  • Effective insulation

Farah Fearon Snood

4.5 star review
best golf snoods 2024

Reviewed by Steve Carroll

Except for some stuck-in-the-mud football managers, who doesn’t like a snood? The Farah Golf Snood is up there with the best of them.

It’s a little tight to get over the nose on first fitting but bear with it. It does stretch and once you get over that initial hurdle it will become an essential winter accessory.

I sometimes find inner layers of snoods difficult, with a thick fleece inner layer trapping air and making it moist and uncomfortable.

But this waffle lining is very breathable and that will allow me to warm both neck and face in the colder months.

It is lightweight and feels pretty durable. It will make a change for me to get a snood through more than one winter.

Fashion is often an afterthought in accessories but the F pattern across this snood is stylish and eye-catching without being over the top. I can easily see myself wearing this off course too.

PROS

  • Insulative fleece fabric is very breathable
  • Striking pattern
  • Not just confined to wearing on the golf course

CONS

  • A little tight to get on initially

RRP – £16.99

SIZES: One size

I recently got my hands on the Oscar Jacobson Reversible Golf Snood from their Autumn/Winter collection, and it’s quickly become a favourite in my golf wardrobe.

The design is both simple and stylish, featuring a reversible grey and black option that can easily match any outfit.

The reversible feature is simple but it means you can mix your appearance up, which I like. It might be pointing out the obvious but it is like get two snoods for the price of one.

The adjustable cord is a fantastic feature that lets you vary the fit, either snug against the neck or looser over any outer layers.

While the snood is quite large, I personally enjoy the extra coverage—it adds to the coziness on those chilly mornings on the course.

In general, I like this item a lot. It will certainly get plenty of use throughout my winter golf ventures as it is extremely comfortable, warm and looks good.

PROS

  • Extremely comfortable
  • Looks smart
  • Adjustable

CONS

  • Quite large, may not be for everyone

Stuburt Blizzard Snood

The snood is not an item I had seen before in the golfing arena.

Nevertheless on trying this out I realised that it is pretty handy.

The Stuburt Blizzard Snood is a knitted snood with a fleece lining making it warm and comfortable. It has an adjustable elasticated draw cord so can be used in different ways.

With changeable weather and the potential for some cold winds and more unpleasantness in the winter having this to hand makes perfect sense.

For its modest price and portability it is a handy addition for a golfers winter needs.

PROS

  • Handy size
  • Warm
  • Versatile

CONS

  • None

RRP – £15.75 / $20

SIZES: One size

COLOUR: Black / Midnight

Stuburt Quail Snood

4.5 star review

The Quail snood is part of Stuburt’s Autumn / Winter collection release.

A simple accessory but for those who don’t wear one it is well worth considering. It is available in three colourways and at only £15.75 it is a great price point.

Whilst I personally prefer my golf clothes to be fairly plain, I don’t mind pushing the boat out on a smaller accessories for a bit of pattern to add to your outfit. All three versions of this snood present in a ‘wobbly line’ texture which looks quite smart.

The material is fairly lightweight so great for the cooler days but you may want to consider something slightly thicker on those deep December snow days.

It is useable both on and off the golf course, if I had a dog i would suggest this is also great for taking it out. As I don’t have a dog I’ll suggest it’s a great walking garment.

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Comfortable
  • Cool design

CONS

  • f you prefer a thicker material this might not be the option

RRP – £15.75

SIZES: One size

COLOUR: Ash / Black / French Navy

Ping Hex Neckwarmer

5 star review
best golf snoods 2024

Reviewed by Dan Murphy

I bow to nobody in my admiration of the snood – or neckwarmer as Ping like to put it.

Skiers have known that these garments are essential for years and I don’t know why we golfers have been so slow to cop on.

The reason they are so handy is because the neck is one of the few parts of the body that doesn’t move during the golf swing. That means you are gaining warmth without making a compromise on your freedom to swing. We all know that most heat is lost from the head.

Now, I am not exactly sure at the point which neck becomes head and vice versa but it’s a fact the two are closely related. I find that keeping my neck warm goes a long way to keeping me warm in general.

Simply pull the Hex over your head and you can then adjust it as you wish for maximum comfort.

Top tip: put it on before you add your jacket to ensure it is nicely tucked underneath your outerwear.

PROS

  • Maximum warmth
  • Minimum of fuss to put on and off
  • Easy to store away

CONS

  • What’s not to like?

RRP – £25

SIZES: One size

COLOUR: Black

Under Armour Storm Fleece Gaiter

The Under Armour Storm Fleece Gaiter offers an impressive blend of comfort and functionality, making it an excellent choice for any golfer facing chillier conditions.

The soft fleece material wraps snugly around the neck without feeling restrictive, allowing for easy movement while swinging clubs.

During my round, the gaiter effectively blocked out the biting wind, keeping me warm and focused on my game rather than the elements.

Its lightweight design doesn’t add bulk, and I appreciated the moisture-wicking technology that kept sweat at bay during the round.

The versatility of the gaiter also stood out; I found it easy to adjust with the drawcord and even wear as a face covering on and off the golf course – great for dog walking!

Overall, the Under Armour Storm Fleece Gaiter not only enhanced my comfort on the course but also added a stylish touch to my golf attire. A worthy addition for any golfer looking to keep the cold at bay this winter.

PROS

  • Comfortable
  • Easy to adjust
  • Stylish

CONS

  • Is cold if you are having to wear it

RRP – £32 / $35
