Under Armour Drive Medal Waterproof Spikeless golf shoe review: First Impressions

One of the standout features of these shoes is their waterproofing — but interestingly, that wasn’t obvious at first glance. When I initially tried them on, I had no idea they were waterproof, which really speaks to how well Under Armour has blended function with style. They look sleek and modern, without the bulky or rubbery appearance you might expect from waterproof gear.

In terms of fit, they felt a bit tight at first, and I was concerned they might be a size too small. However, after just one round, they began to break in nicely and now feel snug and supportive without any discomfort. I’ve been wearing the blue colourway, which I think adds a nice touch of personality. It’s a refreshing change from the standard white or black options you usually see on the course, but still subtle enough to keep things looking sharp.

On Course Performance

After a month of regular use, these shoes have performed exceptionally well out on the course. I’ve played multiple rounds in them, and there’s barely any visible wear, which is impressive considering how often I’m out playing. The durability is clearly there, which is always a big plus for any golf shoe.

What really stands out, though, is how well the shoe performs under pressure. The UA Rotational Resistance 2.0 spikes do an outstanding job of maintaining traction through the swing — I haven’t slipped once, even on damp fairways or during aggressive tee shots. That added grip makes a big difference in maintaining balance and confidence with every swing.

The Charged Cushioning midsole also deserves credit — it absorbs impact and provides a stable, responsive feel as you walk the course. Whether I’m climbing uneven terrain or just pacing out a putt, the comfort and support have been consistently solid. And thanks to the microfibre upper with Never-Wet treatment, my feet have stayed dry even in light drizzle or morning dew.

All in all, these shoes haven’t just kept up with me — they’ve genuinely improved my on-course experience.

NCG Verdict

Overall, the Under Armour Drive Medal golf shoes have really impressed me. They combine sleek, modern styling with practical features like waterproofing and excellent grip, all without sacrificing comfort. After a month of frequent use, they’ve proven to be durable and reliable, with performance that holds up across a variety of course conditions.

If you’re after a stylish pair of golf shoes that don’t just look the part but truly deliver on functionality, these are a great choice — especially for summer golf. Comfortable, supportive, good value and built to last, they’ve more than earned their spot in my golfing wardrobe.
