NCG Summary

The Puma IGNITE ELEVATE 2 Tour golf shoe delivers an outstanding blend of style, comfort, and performance. Comfort levels are high throughout the round thanks to Puma’s responsive IGNITE foam midsole. On the course, the soft spikes provide tour-grade traction and a strong feeling of stability on all terrain.

Styling is a major highlight, with the shoe offering a clean, sporty look that feels modern yet smart. Add in the waterproof EXOSHELL upper, which promises protection without sacrificing breathability, and you’ve got everything a golfer could need from a pair of golf shoes.

First Impressions

Straight off the bat, I was extremely exited to test these golf shoes. I absolutely love the look of these golf shoes, they tick all the boxes that I want in my golf wear. For me, I only ever tend to gravitate towards casual and sporty looking clothing and golf shoes, sot these are my ideal pair of golf shoes.

Puma Ignite Elevate 2 Tour Golf Shoe review

I think Puma has struck an ideal balance between casual sportiness but still supplying that smart golf style. A big part of their appeal to me is how good they look off the course as they do on it. This is ideal for golfers who like their golf gear to be equally as versatile away from the golf course as on it.

NCG Verdict

As well as the sporty styling, the most impressive thing about the Puma Ignite Elevate 2 golf shoes is their comfort. Comfort was the standout feature of this shoe from the moment I slipped it on. The IGNITE foam midsole offers impressive cushioning underfoot and remained supportive throughout the entire round. I didn’t feel any discomfort at any point during my 18 holes of testing, which is testament to the underfoot tech and build quality.

That said, I did find the sizing to be slightly on the snug side. While I didn’t have any problems with the way the shoe fit as such, I would recommend going up half a size if you prefer a more relaxed fit.

Performance-wise, the soft spike design delivers exceptional traction across all areas of the course. Whether on the tee, the fairway, or navigating slippery rough, I always felt secure and grounded. The traction is among the best I’ve experienced in this category of shoe. I was seriously impressed with the grip and stability I had for each swing.

Puma Ignite Elevate 2 Tour Golf Shoe review

Although I tested these in dry conditions, Puma’s EXOSHELL upper is designed to offer full waterproof protection while retaining the breathability of a mesh shoe. This is backed by a 1-year waterproof guarantee. Given how breathable they felt in warm conditions, I’d be confident taking them out in the rain and trusting them to keep my feet dry.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I think it’s safe to say that the Puma IGNITE ELEVATE 2 Tour is a serious contender for one of the best golf shoes of the season. It combines excellent comfort with tour-level traction and a smart, versatile design.

While the fit runs slightly narrow, sizing up should resolve this for most golfers. With waterproofing built in and great styling throughout, it’s a superb option for most golfers.

About the author

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
