NCG SUMMARY

Payntr are growing as a brand, and if they keep putting out shoes like the X 005 F spikeless shoe, then there is no limit to where they will end up.

The X 005 F shoes have a carbon fibre propulsion plate and nitrogen in the foam midsole which makes them sturdy and strong in the golf swing despite being really light to walk the course in.

  • Super comfortable
  • great traction and stability
  • Love the snug, supportive fit of the heel fit

CONS

  • The modern sporty look might not be for everyone

Payntr X 005 F Spikeless Golf Shoe Review: First Impressions

This is my second pair of Payntr shoes. The first pair I packed straight out of the box on a trip to Orlando in January were fantastic to play and live in and as I logged countless miles around the Orange County Convention Centre, I couldn’t believe how comfortable they were.

The brand has since grown on me and despite wearing those shoes out teaching on the driving range, I was very happy when another pair turned up for me to review. The X 005 F Payntr golf shoes look great, are terrifically light and I immediately love how the heel of the shoe hugs my heel, I feel locked in and ready to go when I have them on.

On Course Testing

I first wore these shoes on the driving range to hit balls in and test some new irons I had received. The first thing you notice when putting on a pair of Payntr shoes is how they feel like the old slippers you have had for years and have moulded perfectly to your feet. The Clarino Trivela ™️ microfibre upper delivers lightweight support and flexibility.

Out on the course, I was really impressed with how little I slipped in the shoe. I have somewhat poor footwork in the swing, which means I slip in spikeless shoes all the time. The Payntr X005 spikeless shoes offer traction in three dimensions with the pattern of the spikes so I didn’t have any issues. You also have the benefit of the carbon plate in the shoe which provides excellent stability.

One of the mornings I wore these shoes it was very dewy and despite these shoes not being waterproof guaranteed, they do have a never wet solution that offers water resistance, and I can confirm my feet did not get wet. This does however probably limit them to being a summer shoe.

The 19th hole

With these being a sporty, modern design, they are more for the golf course than they are also suitable for the pub away from your local golf club. I think they look brilliant with shorts or a smart pair of golf trousers and are for a player who seeks maximum performance. They clean up well after the round, so with a bit of care, they will last for many seasons.

Spikeless golf shoes

The Payntr X 005 F spikeless golf shoes are a brilliant option for golfers looking for a new pair of spikeless golf shoes for the rest of the summer. The performance is brilliant, and for the price you cant get another pair of shoes that have the same amount of technology in them. Once you slip on your first pair of Payntr shoes it will be hard for you to ever go anywhere else.

About the author

Callaway Epic Max driver review
Jack Backhouse

A member of the PGA for 13 years, Jack has lived golf for more than half his life. Inspired by Tiger Wood’s winning putt at the 2008 US Open, an obsession began with watching slow motion golf swings on the internet and reading What’s In The Bag articles in magazines.

Not destined for a life behind the desk in a pro shop, Jack has focussed more on coaching, working closely with regional teams in North Yorkshire and helping golfers of all levels on their journey to enjoying playing the game more. Jack has coached many junior golfers into the county teams, and once worked with a player at the 2018 Open Championship at Carnoustie.

After letting his game fall apart prior to COVID, Jack rediscovered his love for playing golf after joining Silloth Golf Club in 2020 and whipping round the windy, firm links course. Playing regularly with a half set of clubs he has a passion for shot making and developing skill, and claims to have the sharpest 30-100 yard game in the North of England (only because he doesn’t know anyone in the South), and now maintains a +1 handicap at a club much closer to home, Sand Moor GC.

Jack has always tinkered with his equipment, once building his own Frankenstein one length set of clubs after watching Bryson DeChambeau burst onto the scene after winning the US Amateur. He firmly believes in getting custom fit and is happy to debate anyone about blade irons being superior to any other iron category.

Jack loves: playing quickly, 2 ball golf, match play, heathland courses, pencil bags, foursomes, Tiger Wood’s swing 2005-2009.

Jack hates: buggies, unnecessary trees, giving shots, the 7 iron loft debate, graphite shaft lovers weird superiority complex.
