FootJoy are the number one shoe in golf. But, how does their apparel range stand up?
Week in, week out, the brand is trusted by some of the game’s biggest names on the professional circuits. Last year alone, five major champions picked up some of the biggest prizes in the sport wearing FootJoy shoes or clothing.
Spring and summer time mean long days on the golf course for most. So to handle everything from early tee times to warm summer evenings, FootJoy has a range of gear that offers a clean, classic look that the brand has grown a reputation for.
Here are some of our favourite bits from their men’s and women’s collection for 2026…

FootJoy Tempo Hoodie

The Tempo Hoodie is part of the FJ TempoSeries range which also comprises a lightweight vest, an excellent midlayer and a full-zip jacket. It is constructed from a polyester 81%, elastane 19% blend which produces a fabric that is designed to be stretchy and lightweight. It is also moisture wicking but lacks the DWR finish as seen on the Tempo Tech Midlayer which offers some protection against light rain.
Elasticated cuffs and hem provide an element of structure but, overall, the look is very casual and relaxed. It comes in six sizes and three colours. I tested the version in medium size and Chambray colour. Chambray is a duck egg blue and suited the relaxed style of the garment nicely.
There are a couple of contrasting navy zippered side pockets that meet in the middle. The hood drawstrings are also navy. The hood sits perfectly ok when not deployed. I’m not sure what sort of weather would make me want to put the hood up, so I feel it’s a bit irrelevant.
The fabric of the entire garment is lightly textured that offers a bit of visual interest. There is a single logo to the back left shoulder which I think represents the TempoSeries range. I nearly didn’t find an FJ logo which would have been a first! But no, there it is, just beneath the left pocket.

On the course it is comfortable to wear because it is stretchy and lightweight. Because it is light in weight, it doesn’t offer strong thermal properties, and it wouldn’t function as a standalone midlayer on cooler days but is easy to layer over. If hoodies are your thing, then I think you’ll find a lot to like in the Tempo Hoodie. For me, it would be more at home on a surfer beach than a golf course, particularly when the Tempo Tech Midlayer is a similar and, for me, significantly superior option.
PROS
- Relaxed fit.
- Lightweight.
- Decent colour choice.
CONS
- Looks not for all.
RRP: £100.00
Sizes: S-XXXL
Colours: Navy, Chambray and Blue Reef

FootJoy Painted Floral Lisle Polo

The Painted Floral Lisle from FJ is one of a whole host of stylish polo shirts on offer for 2026. Constructed from a blend of 88% polyester and 12% elastane, it offers a lightweight and stretchy feel. According to FJ, the ProDry fabrication provides superior moisture control to keep you cool and comfortable on the course.
It runs true to size and comes in a choice of no less than 6 colours. My test shirt arrived in a vibrant Field Green which looked great. The look is completed by a 3-button placket and a small, tailored collar. There are a couple of barely noticeable FJ logos to the left collar and upper back
On the course it is a joy to wear and is easy to layer over. This model is one of an extensive range of polo shirts from FJ, so you are sure to find something to suit.
PROS
- Great colour options.
- Comfortable and stretchy.
- Quality construction.
CONS
- There are cheaper options.
RRP: £57.50
Sizes: S-XXXL
Colours: Field Green, Black, Cobalt, Pink Lemonade, Navy and Storm

FootJoy Performance Tapered Fit Trousers

I am generally a huge fan of FJ gear, and although this is a perfectly reliable trouser, it doesn’t stand out for me.
As the name suggests, you get a clean, slim and tapered fit with a flat front construction. It is suitable for on and off course wear which is a plus. There is a silicone gripper waistband which I think all trousers should have, but plenty don’t. The two side and two rear pockets are nicely sized.
The 88% polyester/12% elastane fabric offers 4-way stretch and is lightweight and moisture wicking. You get a choice of five colours and a load of sizes. I tested the 32/30 which ran true to size. So far, so good.
Where these trousers lose points is that the fabric feels rather synthetic, when compared to some higher end competitors, which are admittedly more expensive. Furthermore, the slim fitting style is not going to suit the chunkier golfer or those who prefer a more relaxed fit.
On the course, these lightweight trousers performed perfectly well and felt well put together. They don’t pretend to offer any weatherproof properties so work best in mild to warm weather conditions.
So, this is a comfortable and durable pair of trousers that are perfectly serviceable but just didn’t quite hit the mark for this reviewer, particularly when the rest of the FJ apparel range is so strong.
PROS
- Comfortable slimline fit.
- Durable construction.
- Decent value.
CONS
- Lacks premium feel
RRP: £80.00
Sizes: 30-42 Waist, 30-36 Inside Leg
Colours: Black, Navy, Grey, Charcoal and White

FootJoy Tempo Tech Midlayer

The Tempo Tech Midlayer is part of the FJ TempoSeries range which also comprises a lightweight vest, a hoodie and a full-zip jacket. I think this ¼ zip midlayer is the best of the bunch. It is constructed from a polyester 88%, elastane 12% blend which produces a fabric that is designed to be stretchy, durable and lightweight. It is also moisture wicking and has a DWR finish to provide some protection against light rain.

The fit is nicely tailored and yet relaxed. It comes in six sizes and three colours. I tested the version in medium size and Forest Green colour. It fitted true to size and the Forest Green looked on point.
Elasticated cuffs and hem enhance the fit. There are a couple of zippered side pockets that meet in the middle. I’m not sure I’d use them for anything, but they are unobtrusive. The fabric has a texture to the side panels and arms that offers a bit of visual interest. There is an FJ logo to the left front collar and the upper back. I would have preferred just one.
On the course it is a delight to wear because it is so stretchy and lightweight. It wouldn’t function as a standalone midlayer on cooler days, but I think it will be a staple for me in our cool shoulder season UK weather because it is so easy to layer over and under. It also stows away compactly should the conditions allow.
It is a little on the pricey side but because it is equally suited to on and off course activities, I think it represents decent value, and it comes highly recommended.
PROS
- Excellent layering piece.
- Quality construction.
- Stows away easily.
CONS
- Nothing.
RRP: £130.00
Sizes: S-XXXL
Colours: Field Green, Navy and Reef Blue

FootJoy Buckle Belt

I don’t think I have reviewed a belt before and am not used to buying golf-specific belts. So, what to say?
This is a smart genuine leather belt that comes in just one colour which is black. The belt is nice and thick and looks to be well-constructed. It is adjustable in that the original length of 40in is designed to be cut to size.
There are marks on the belt to assist with the cutting to size. The only point I would make is that there is a choice of five perforated closure holes, and I would have expected that the middle of the five holes would be 30in from the 30in mark. It was in fact an inch out, which I thought was intriguing.
That said, it is straightforward enough to cut to size and, hey presto, you have your own smart custom-fit belt which looks like it will give years of useful service.
PROS
- Genuine leather.
- Adjustable fit.
- Smart buckle.
CONS
- Just one colour.
RRP: £50.00
Sizes: One size
Colours: Black Smooth

FootJoy StaSof Glove

The StaSof has been my go-to golf glove for as long as I can remember. As a leather golf glove, you really don’t lose out on the feel of the club. It’s a stretchy, thin make-up that allows you to feel everything.
I wear a ladies large and this has always been consistent over the years. I like that if this glove gets wet you it can be dried out (if done correctly) and it doesn’t ruin it.
In terms of durability, it takes me a long time before I have to replace these. The StaSof really does protect my hands as you would expect. They’re excellent quality and a real premium leather golf glove.
PROS
- Very durable
- Great amount of feel
- Good hand protection
CONS
- None
RRP: £26.00
Sizes: S-L
Colours: Pearl/black

FootJoy Full-zip Rib Midlayer

This is a stylish midlayer. It’s a nice hybrid between golf clothing and true sportswear – I could certainly go on a run or to the gym wearing this.
It’s a lightweight make up being 78% Nylon and 22% Elastane. The four way stretch material makes it very easy to move and swing in.
I wore this jacket in a small which is my standard size. I enjoyed the fit and found it to be very comfortable. Having put this in my bag for a couple of holes it did come out with minimal creases. The almost hidden zip pockets are a useful addition. FJ has used an anti-microbial finish to help with odour build up too.
PROS
- Sporty style
- Nice range of colourways
- Can be worn on and off the course
CONS
- None
RRP: £85.00
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colours: Navy, black, red, mid pink and tile blue

FootJoy Painted Floral Cap Sleeve Polo

With the Masters been and gone this field green design absolutely fits the vibe. I love that this is so different to everything that I already own.
The polo has a silky feel when touched and is made from an 88% polyester and 12% elastane make up. It’s very lightweight so great for those summer rounds as well as having UPF 30 sun protection.
The ProDry fabrication provides superior moisture control.
Having been through the wash already it dried really fast and crease free. I wore this top in a small which is a UK 10. I’m between an 8 and a 10 so it’s worth sizing up if you’re unsure.
It was really easy to move and swing in – I look forward to wearing this lots more.
PROS
- Lightweight design
- Crease free drying
- Nice colourway options
CONS
- None
RRP: £57.50
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colours: Field green, navy, cobalt and pink lemonade

FootJoy Ladies Stretch Golf Trouser

It’s an absolute joy to find a women’s golf trouser that comes in a long leg; these really deliver on length. At 173cm, they were perfect for me, which makes such a difference as I sometimes feel I am showing my socks and trousers are flapping around my ankles.
The fabric is excellent with a really good amount of stretch, that makes them comfortable to wear all day and easy to move in. My only slight issue is the waist, which comes up quite high and felt a little on the small side – I wore a size 12. I tend to prefer a lower rise fit, so it took some getting used to.
However, despite my initial hesitation, the overall fit is actually very flattering, and I had lots of compliments while wearing them. The comfort and compliments outweighed the high waist.
The navy colour is incredibly versatile and will work with so much of my wardrobe. They feel like a great option across seasons too, from spring through to cooler autumn rounds. Also available in black and white – so something for everyone.
PROS
- Long leg option — a real win
- Great stretch and comfort
- Flattering fit and versatile colours
CONS
- High, slightly small waist
RRP: £80.00
Sizes: XS-XXL
Colours: Navy, white and black
