PowaKaddy RX1 GPS Electric Trolley
Straight away, when you get this out of the box, this is an impressive product. I really like the stealth matt black finish, and gives this a more high-end look. Even small details, such as the tyre pattern, have been updated to make this seem more premium than other models in the PowaKaddy range.
The remote is very simple and intuitive to use with arrows for forward and backwards as well as left and right. The central stop button gradually slows the trolley down, if you press and hold this you will initiate the emergency stop function. A great feature in case steering goes wrong.
The trolley uses a swivel front wheel to help you control direction. Although I found speed and distance control very easy sometimes I found left-to-right movement was slightly skiddy.
It is great to be able to walk straight to the green and send your trolley off to the next tee when you are finishing out a hole. It almost feels like you have your own personal caddie, which definitely helps speed up play.
The GPS function on the RX1 GPS electric trolley is exceptional. I have used this before in my CT8 model and find it really easy to use. It comes preloaded with over 40,000 courses worldwide so you nearly always have access to data out on the golf course.
PROS
- Looks great
- Excellent GPS
- Remote function fun and easy to use
CONS
- Slightly larger than other PowaKaddy trolleys

Motocaddy S1 trolley
The new S1 has a strong bold Motocaddy styling and fits in really well with the rest of their line-up. I really like the new shaping in the middle body of the trolley where we see a much more streamlined battery area.
The new look S1 features the brand’s quickest-ever one-step folding system which is not only extremely simple, but it will have you ready for your round in just seconds.
Possible my favourite upgrade is the addition of a ‘Click-n-Connect’ battery which gives the user cable-free connectivity. The battery also automatically disconnects when the trolley is folded down, while there is no need to remove the battery for charging either as a quick-access port allows onboard charging.
On the handle we see nine speed control settings, a speed indicator, a battery metre, and buttons for adjustable distance control up to 45 yards. There is also a USB port for charging your various gadgets.
PROS
- Super quick to put up and down
- Onboard battery charging
- Simple and easy to use!
CONS
- Nothing

Powakaddy CT8 GPS trolley
I have been using this trolley for over a year now and I love the performance. I have used it on flat courses, hilly courses and it dry and wet conditions and it always works perfectly.
If you are conscious about space, this is the perfect model. The 2-step folding method allows the trolley to fold down extremely small. If you choose to invert the wheels, this model ends up barely bigger than a rucksack and I found it could easily fit in a foot well in my car.
PowaKaddy’s Plug ‘n’ Play battery is featured in all of the FX and CT models, you can choose between a 18-hole and 36-hole battery when purchasing. The lightweight battery is very compact and sits nicely in the frame. An added button allows you to turn the battery on and off, which is ideal if you want to leave the battery in whilst the trolley is folded up.
The GPS function on the CT8 GPS electric trolley is exceptional and really easy to use. It comes preloaded with over 40,000 courses worldwide so you nearly always have access to data out on the golf course.
The first screen displays distances to the front, middle and back of the green. It also has a drop pin feature so you can see the distances to a specific pin location. I love having these yardages so close to hand especially on holes with blind shots to greens.
PROS
- Looks great
- Excellent GPS
- Very compact design
CONS
- Would like a 36-hole battery as standard

PowaKaddy FX3 electric trolley
Despite being the most basic model, the FX3 is just as impressive looks-wise as its more expensive counterparts. The sleek-looking built-in battery and wide display screen leave a very modern sporty look. The FX3 model is available in classic black or polar white, both featuring the classic grey handle grips and yellow PowaKaddy detailing. As well as being easy on the eye, it was easy to assemble with just one click folding system unfolding the whole trolley.
The simplicity continued when it came to the functioning of the trolley. One dial controls the stopping, starting, and speed.
When it comes to storing the FX3 it is certainly not PowaKaddy’s smallest option but with the one-click folding mechanism, it is one of the quickest and easiest. In comparison to former FX models, the FX3 folds up 20% smaller. However, if this is still taking up too much room the back wheels are easily removable.
Overall, I really enjoyed using this trolley. As PowaKaddy’s entry model it is the most basic however if you’re after an easy-to-use, stylish electric trolley this ones for you.
PROS
- Sleek and sporty design
- Easy to fold/unfold
- Simple to operate
CONS
- Doesn’t fold overall small

Motocaddy M7 GPS Golf Trolley
This trolley can do a lot more than you would expect it to. I had to read the list a few times just to get my head around all of the features, and there are still probably a few I’ve yet to use, even after a few rounds of golf.
Impressively this trolley is really easy to get up and down. Motocaddy have come a long way on this front (the original M1 trolley was somewhat like a Rubix cube of a puzzle to solve), and it practically folds up and down in a couple of seconds, and the support rear wheel clips in very easily.
The GPS feature is wonderful; I’m no longer faffing around trying to find my GPS, I know straight away when I get to my ball how far it is to the front, middle and back, and you can even move the pin position on the green to know roughly how far it is to pin location.
The remote to a bit of getting used to as I’ve never used one before; it reminded me of using Scalextrix as a kid. I charged up the remote using the USB charging port and loved not constantly having to adjust the speed settings as one would be too fast and one too slow for my walking speed. I could just set it off, maintaining a constant speed, and then stop it next to the destination.
At £1499 this trolley is a sizable investment, but it should be viewed as just that. The trolley has so many features that either make your life easier or can actually help you play better golf; surely, it’s worth taking every advantage you can get.
PROS
- Remote control is loads of fun
- Very easy to assemble
- There are literally no features this trolley doesnt have
- Folds down very compact
CONS
- Heavy when lifting in and out of the car
- Remote control takes some getting used to for a first time user

Motocaddy S5 GPS Electric Golf Trolley
Having only ever owned the most rudimentary of electric trolleys and an owner of a GPS, I was not sure what Motocaddy S5 GPS would bring to the table. Is it more than the sum of its parts?
It comes with 40,000 courses loaded and 6 months free Motocadddy performance plan software which adds features beyond a simple GPS (£49.99 per year after 6 months). There is also an app which, among other things, will display your messages on the trolley.
The battery took about 6 hours to charge the first time fully.
This is a high-quality, extremely user-friendly electric golf-trolley. A lot of thought has gone into its design. The GPS is intuitive and accurate. This has changed my somewhat lukewarm view of electric trolleys as it is hassle-free. If you are in the market for an electric trolley, I would give serious consideration to having GPS if the budget will stretch to that, and the S5 GPS will not disappoint.
PROS
- Overall ease of use
- Feature filled without being overwhelming
- Clever charging port
- Can be put up in a matter of seconds
- Removes the need for an external GPS device
CONS
- Not particularly compact
