TaylorMade has expanded its milled putter line-up with the launch of the SYSTM2 range. The brand believes that these putters are designed to blend traditional shaping with modern precision.

But what does that mean exactly?

Well, the new range features seven models, featuring both blades and mallets. They have been designed to deliver a consistent roll, a soft feel, and improved stability on the greens.

With multiple different head shapes and hosel configurations available, TaylorMade says their new range has been built to help every golfer find a putter that matches their stroke.

Golfers can choose between multiple head shapes and hosel configurations. So there is no excuse for not cutting down on those three putts.

Here’s a closer look at the line-up and what makes these putters tick…

TaylorMade SYSTM2 Putter: The Technology

At the centre of every SYSTM2 putter is a precision-milled face designed to create consistent roll and feel.

The face is first fly-cut across the entire hitting area, before grooves are added using a saw-cutter at a specific depth. This process is designed to optimise feedback at impact and maintain consistent performance across the entire face.

TaylorMade uses Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technology to achieve more precise weight distribution in the putter head.

This advanced manufacturing process allows engineers to remove mass from behind the face and reposition it toward the heel and toe. The brand believes this results in increased stability at impact and more consistent performance on mishits.

The heads are milled from 304 stainless steel, a material chosen for its softer feel compared to harder steel alloys.

This construction is designed to provide improved feedback and distance control while also allowing tight machining tolerances to ensure consistency throughout the lineup.

One of the standout visual elements of the SYSTM2 line is the two-tone finish.

The front section features a satin scratch silver finish, while the rear section uses a black PVD coating. The contrast between the two is designed to help golfers frame the ball more easily and square the face to the target line.

The silver portion of the head also features a hydro-blasted surface intended to maintain its appearance and durability over time.

TaylorMade SYSTM2 Putter: The line-up

A key strength of the SYSTM2 range is its strength in depth. TaylorMade has made no exceptions when it comes to the types of putters they have included.

The brand has built out a comprehensive line-up to ensure there’s something for every stroke type.

Blade Models

The Soto is a very traditional and classical looking blade, a rarity in modern golf club design. It features soft, flowing lines and rounded bumpers, to give it this appearance.

I’d imagine it is likely to appeal to golfers who favour a clean look behind the ball and a more natural release through impact.

Juno offers a slightly sharper aesthetic, with more squared-off back bumpers. Looking at similar models, it’s a shape that tends to suit players who prefer a more structured look at address. This tends to help better the alignment capabilities.

The Del Monte is the most forgiving of the blade options. Its wide-body design pushes weight further back, increasing MOI and stability but it still retains a blade-style profile.

A viable alternative to stop the mass migration of golfers opting for mallets over blades because of their increased forgiveness.

All blade models are available in L-Neck and Short Curve hosels.

Mallet Models

The Bandon is a traditional mid-mallet shaped offering. Its designed is to help offer a blend of stability and visual familiarity.

Additionally, it is available in both L-Neck and Single Bend configurations, making it versatile for different stroke styles.

Similar in concept to the Bandon, the Ardmore provides another mid-mallet option but with subtle shaping differences to suit player preference.

It also comes in both L-Neck and Single Bend options, giving golfers flexibility between toe hang and face-balanced setups.

About the author

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
