Pluto Golf are the new kids on the block and they’re here to make a splash. This is a footwear and apparel brand that has entered the golf market with a fresh perspective new styling, with a modern feel, to the golf world.

This is a new brand that has taken social media by storm, racking up over 20,000 followers on instagram. They have tapped into the way young people especially use the internet, cooperating internet culture and often cool aesthetics into their marketing.

We all know golf apparel has changed over the last decade with a more contemporary look creeping into the sport and a shift to a more casual look on the golf course. Pluto Golf are playing into this trend by designing the perfect golf gear that can be worn anywhere away from the course.

Many brands are marketing their shoes and clothing as items that are extremely versatile in their use. But, realistically how many of us are wearing that same gear out to the shops or down the pub. Not many, would be my guess.

That’s where Pluto’s golf-wear steps in. They blend a desirable streetwear inspired look with functionality for the perfect mix. Pluto are aiming to push the elevation of the game on away from the protection of the “old guard” and redefining what is possible in the world of golf for future generations.

Like the sound of that? Here’s a selection of some of our favourite items from Pluto Golf for you to take a closer look at…

Pluto Golf – Shoes

Pluto P1 Sneaker – £125.00

From the image it isn’t totally clear if this is indeed a golf shoe. But, I assure you it is and offers plenty of on-course performance. The Pluto 1 adopts a spikeless design, for added versatility, which still offers a firm grip on the course while being comfortable enough to wear all day.

Pluto have designed the brands marquee shoe to be a fashion-forward option that is a great option for everyone, not just golfers. We have all seen the popularity of skater shoes to the wider public with the mergence of Nike SB Dunks, Pluto are looking to do the same with golf shoes and the Pluto 1s. You don’t have to be a hard core golfer to rock these.

They are available in a range of colours and made from a soft leather for an ‘out of this world comfort’. It’s very much out with the old and in with the new with these golf shoes.

Pluto Golf – Shirts and Polos

Classic “P” Polo – £47.00

pluto golf

As well as the modern designs Pluto still offer some more traditional items of apparel. Although, you still won’t need to exchange any style points when wearing this. This comfortable sport polo shirt is extremely lightweight and offers a great freedom of movement for uninterrupted golf swings.

The fit is athletic and is true to size. If olive isn’t your colour then this Classic “P” polo is available in black and charcoal too.

Players Only Polo – £1002.00

This offering from Pluto offers a unique take on the golf polo shirt. Accompanying its eye-catching pattern is a medium weight, loose fitting, long-sleeve polo that is designed for premium comfort and playability in cooler conditions.

In turn, the Players Only polo eliminates any need for extra layers that may restrict a golfer’s swing. I think the pattern represents a quirky take on a traditional golf jumper design, Ince again incorporating that street style with acceptable golf-wear.

Pluto Golf – Sweatshirts and Outwear

University Quarter Zip – £117.00

pluto golf

Us golfers have an unrivalled love for a quarter zip. Pluto offer a collegiate style one that is ideal for those chilly Saturday morning tee times. Like the other apparel ranges this is available in a selection of colours to suit your golfing and casual wear style.

Cut & Sew Full-Zip Sweatshirt – £102.00

Hoodies have become ever increasingly more popular amongst golfers and are worn by some of the world’s best players on tour regularly. Pluto have taken it a step further with the release of a full-zip hoodie that will certainly be a conversation starter with your playing partners.

This durable hoodie can be zipped-up to cover your whole face if it all just gets too much for you out on the golf course. Obviously, most people will likely wear this in a more casual setting but Pluto’s staple piece is also great for a quick nine hole.

Pluto Golf – Pants

Cut & Sew “Boy Pluto” Sweatpants – £78.00

Golf joggers have slowly been making their way to a more prominent fronting over the last few years. This season alone we’ve seen Jason Day rock some Malbon ones at Torrey Pines and even Rory McIlroy had a pair of jogger trousers on earlier in the year.

I think some golfers regard comfort on the course above anything else when it comes to their attire. If you are one of those people then these “Boy Pluto” ones are ideal for you.

For more information click here.

Pluto Golf – Accessories

The Player’s Bag – £314.00

It’s not just clothing Pluto offer. There are plenty of golfing accessories on their website as well. Including premium golf bags that are handcrafted to offer exceptional quality and durability.

Their stunning looks are also complimented by great practicality with the PU Leather providing fantastic protection against the elements. There is also plenty of room for storage with five zipper pockets to safely hold personal belongings.

Stealth Sunglasses – £39.99

Stylish sunglasses and a fair prices generally don’t go together, but they do at Pluto Golf. Perfect for those long summer nights on and off the golf course. We can’t guarantee they will deliver Tiger Woods vision but they will make you look good trying to swing like him.

About the author

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
