Payntr might be better known in the cricket industry but are now putting their footprint down within golf. Here are some of the best golf shoes they have to offer.
When it comes to golf shoes there are plenty of options on the market, but very few brands have made an impression as quickly as Payntr have. They have built a reputation for delivering shoes that don’t just look the part, but they also offer quality on course performance. They have partnered with Jason Day and have players such as Justin Rose walking the fairways in them.
In this guide, we break down the best Payntr golf shoes for 2025. We showcase all the standout features that make each model worth your attention and could make your wardrobe for the new season – especially as some are currently available at great deal prices!
Whether you’re after all-weather versatility, tour-level stability, or a certain style, there’s a Payntr shoe for you.
Better known for producing quality cricket shoes Payntr have now entered the golf market. It is not often a new golf shoe comes along and you think, yep, I might just consider shifting allegiance and move away from the more established brands. Having tested these shoes I do think they could be a disruptor in the market. Along with Jason Day, I would happily be a Payntr brand champion!
Simply – they are the best golf shoes I have ever tested.
A stylish and comfortable shoe that does not compromise on performance. It is packed with tech and innovation that goes beyond marketing hype. The PAYNTR X 006 RS is a great option for anyone looking for a premium golf shoe.
I thoroughly enjoyed testing my first pair of Payntr shoes, the 87 SC. The combination of good looks, exceptional comfort premium construction and first rate performance means that these shoes get a well-merited 5 star review and although the RRP of £200/$220 is certainly top end, I feel that it is justified.
So, plaudits to Jason Day and the team at Payntr, for this collaboration. I understand that there is the promise of more SC models in Spring 2025 and I’ll be interested to test those, because it’s difficult to see how the Payntr 87 SC could be improved. We shall see!

Pros:
Unbelievably comfortable
Attractive sporty style
Colourway of grey and green I loved
Cons:
Might be hard to clean and so not a 12 month a year shoe
As a fan of Payntr golf shoes, I can confidently say they’ve become my go-to choice. The seamless blend of performance and aesthetics has won me over.
If you are only looking at having one pair of golf shoes to wear whatever the weather then the X-003 Fs are an excellent choice. I even tested them out during outdoor Padel sessions, and despite me hardly moving like Usain Bolt, they handled slippery autumn and winter conditions with ease.
Pros:
Unbelievably comfortable
Attractive sporty style
Easy to clean
Waterproof
Cons:
Not a fan of the white heel – would have preferred them to be all black

My previous experience of shoes this comfortable was that they had the structural integrity of a sponge pudding. Payntr do seem to have put their money where their mouth is with these shoes, and they provide excellent support and extreme comfort. The design puts rigidity towards the back of the shoe and flexibility towards the front. This support is apparent when walking on uneven ground, on hillsides and when playing shots. They use Softspike’s Tour Flex Pro spike with the tech described as providing three degrees of traction control and 10 points of contact. In practice, this means they are as grippy as any shoe as I have worn.
I’m sure many golfers, like me, have not given enough thought to the performance of their shoes. A relatively new kid on the block, Payntr have taken shoe design to the next level. Comfort and support, in my experience, were always a trade-off. The Payntr X 006 RS has done everything to maximise both of these without compromise.
Pros:
Great looks
Extreme comfort
uperb overall performance with great stabiltiy and support
Cons:
None

My experience using them was that the grip was top-notch. No embarrassing slips down wet grassy banks.
They are priced in the premium bracket, but this is commensurate with their competitors and they are not over-priced for what they are.
A lot of thought and R&D has gone into the design of these shoes. In my opinion, this is not just marketing hype. The details of the technology and design of the shoes translate into discernible factors when the shoes are in use. I absolutely love them, and they are now my regular golf shoe.
Pros:
Great comfort and support
Extremely well thought out design
High tech innovations that translates into real world performance
Great looks
Cons:
None

What is important when buying Golf shoes?
When buying new golf footwear its important to know what attributes or features you value the most before deciding on a brand or model to buy. For example, do you want spiked or spikeless shoes?
A lot of golfers think comfort is paramount when choosing a shoe, we are going to be standing in them for 3-5 hours right? Some golf shoes on the market have special insoles and cushioned mid-soles designed to keep your feet feeling fresh. Also it’s pretty common for golfers with wide feet to wear the wrong sized pair of golf shoes so its worth getting fit properly.

Grip is vital to good performance on the golf course as any foot slip in dry or wet conditions can not only cause the golf club to swing improperly but may also lead to an injury. Golfers need traction and stability.
Nearly all golf shoes will either be fully waterproof or offer some kind of water resistance, and this is important as real die-hard golfers play in every weather condition. Having wet feet for 4 hours is not and will never be fun so keeping the feet dry is important, this might even mean you need gore tex in the shoe.
How good the shoe looks is of course subjective to personal style, but is important to any player. Do you prefer an athletic-looking shoe, or are you more full grain leather traditional? Does your shoe offer on-course off-course style or do you want shoes purely for the course? Does the style of shoe you like have the best colour options for your golfing wardrobe?
Price is the last factor to consider. With the models above we have tried to find shoes at all different price points so if you want a shoe at a lower cost, you can get one. Or if you want to spend more, you can do that too. Importantly there is something for everyone.
What brands produce the best golf shoes?
All of the products that will end up featuring in the best golf shoes 2025 article are picked from the brands that offer what we believe to be the best shoes on the market.
Do any pros wear spikeless golf shoes on tour?
As you will see on TV when watching the PGA, LPGA & DP World Tour, professionals wear both spiked and spikeless golf shoes, depending on their preference.
Some tour players are looking for extra stability and grip for maximum power creation that a spiked golf shoe might offer, and others are looking for the comfort and style that spikeless golf shoes offer. Some tour players prefer a running shoe style, and others a traditional classic leather shoe; there really isn’t a hard or fast rule as to what tour players wear.
A super high tech golf shoe from a relatively new company. The tech goes beyond hype and translates into genuine performance. Supreme comfort, support and modern looks that won’t offend the purists.
The Payntr Match Day SC Spikeless Golf Shoes are a perfect blend of comfort, technology, and style. Designed with input from major champion Jason Day, they offer immediate comfort out of the box and tour-level stability.
A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.
Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.
Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.
Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.
With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
