Sketchers Arch Fit Go Golf Max 2 golf shoes review: First Impressions

Sketchers are very much renowned for their comfort factor. These shoes are no different as they are packed with ultra-flight cushioning foam to help support your feet. In fact, the Arch Fit® insole system has been podiatrist designed shaped, and developed. The arch design has been created based on 20 years of data and 120,000 unweighted foot scans, all designed at creating the most supportive shoe possible.

Sketchers Arch Fit Go Golf Max 2 golf shoes review

As Sketchers is mainly built on the factor of comfort they may not always be seen as the most desirable looks-wise. The Arch Fit Go Golf Max 2 certainly defies this is they are a great sporty-looking golf shoe. The version I tested was the white/multi colourway which is a fairly plain design with a washed pastel purple/blue mesh upper, a purple S, and a light blue sole. Sketchers offers this style of shoes in grey as well, with a purple sole.

Sketchers Arch Fit Go Golf Max 2 golf shoes review: On Course Testing

Straight away you could tell how comfortable these were from just putting them on my feet in the car park. I tested these in a UK size 6 which is my regular size and they were the perfect fit. For a standard-size shoe, they had a great amount of width which added to their comfort. Sketchers offer these shoes in a great range of sizes, ranging from a UK 2.5, in half sizes up to an 8.

These shoes are all about supporting your foot and they do this very well out on the course. The inner of the shoe features ultra-lightweight responsive ultra-flight cushioning that is in the sole of the shoe. The insoles are designed to mold to your feet to help distribute weight evenly and reduce shock. The patented sketcher’s arch fit insole system has a removable sole so you can alter the padding in the shoe.

The padding is continued up on the back of the shoe were your ankle sits. As this select is quite high it products a great deal of support. I also found that these shoes never once rubbed me over the eighteen holes which is great and shows how comfortable they are.

As spikeless golf shoes the Sketchers Arch Fit was very grippy. The sole of the shoe is constructed from a firm plastic TPU outsole. The plastic studs act well, keeping a firm grip when walking on different terrains and during the golf swing. Walking about the course they were very lightweight on my feet, which is what you want to game in all day when you’re walking over ten thousand steps around a golf course for eighteen holes. Having worn them for eighteen holes on a very warm summer’s day I found that these were also very breathable.

I like that the design features a lace-up system as you can really get great support once the laces are tightly fastened. The laces have a great thickness and stayed well-tied all throughout the round.

The Arch Fit Go Golf Max 2 shoes are 100% waterproof protection according to the Sketchers website. Unfortunately, when it came to testing it didn’t rain and so I don’t have any first-hand experience. I would say that they do feel very sturdy and durable. These shoes come with a one-year waterproof guarantee.

Sketchers Arch Fit Go Golf Max 2 golf shoes review

Overall, these are a great pair of shoes, offering both style and comfort. They have a firm durable feel made from part leather, part mesh upper with a waterproof coating. They are a great investment for the price and well worth the money.

Sketchers Arch Fit Go Golf Max 2 golf shoes review: The 19th hole

These are great-looking pair of golf shoes that really do perform well on the course. The firm TPU outsole with plastic studs means that they aren’t the best for day-to-day wear however wouldn’t be a bad option when going on a walk that isn’t on regular pavement.
