Which courses can you play for less than £100 this summer?
Our new NCG Top 100s: England Value list has the best 50 courses in the country, organised in terms of their ranking and their cheapest priced green fee.
We know that it is not an exact science to quote green fees accurately, given the many rates on offer at most of the courses on our list. Some clubs employ dynamic pricing, while many have shoulder rates and twilight deals.
Here, we have endeavoured to quote the lowest rack rate that is openly available throughout the summer of 2025, and from what we can see, there are some incredible deals to be had!
You can even play at six venues on the NCG Top 100s: England list for £50 or less this summer.
The cheapest summer green fee that we can find is at Kington, where you can play for just £22. Kington is the highest golf course in the country. Situated on Bradnor Hill, close to the Welsh border and overlooking the Brecon Beacons, this course is one of the finest moorland layouts in England.

Cleeve Hill, also located in the west of England, is another that can be played for just £25. It is another, like Kington, that is elevated, and therefore at the mercy of the elements. Old Tom Morris was the designer of the layout, which features large dips and gorges, all part of Cleeve Hill’s charm.
Two courses in the north of England also come in at under £50. The first of those, Seascale, sits on the northwest coastline of Cumbria. Willie Campbell, George Lowe and Harry Colt had a hand in the design of the course, one that has co-hosted the English Amateur Championship, with Silloth. The panoramic views over the Irish Sea and across to the Isle of Man are something to behold.
On the north-eastern coastline sits the glorious Dunstanburgh Castle, where you can play for just £45. With Dunstanburgh Castle itself overlooking the golf course, and panoramic views from the early holes on the clifftop, this James Braid layout is one to be enjoyed, whatever the weather.
Moving to the south-west, there are two more layouts that can be played £50 this summer. East Devon – shaped by the remarkable combination of Fowler, Braid and Colt – is one to savour. Despite enjoying ocean views, it is actually a heathland layout, and one of the highest heathlands in the country.
Keep driving towards the southwest corner of the country, and you’ll come to Bude & North Cornwall. A relatively short course, at just 6,000 yards, it is packed with incident, intrigue and excitement. A game here is yours for £50.
