With 27 holes and a rich history, Belton Park Golf Club offers golfers a wonderful experience, playing golf in a National Trust estate.
There aren’t many other places that can offer the same feeling, and with three loops of nine, it is rare that you cannot get a tee time at the Lincolnshire venue.
With designs from Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas most recently, adding to the original 18 holes, Belton has become a wonderful venue to play golf.
History
The club dates back to 1890, making Belton Park the oldest in the county of Lincolnshire. It began as a 9-hole course, before being extended to 18 in 1908.
1975 saw the addition of another nine holes to make the venue into a 27-hole course. Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas were the men responsible for the additional nine. The three nines are now named Brownlow, Ancaster and Belmont.
A few years after, the estate was sold to the National Trust, who remain the landlords to this day. The course has also been host to England Golf Championships in its history.
What makes Belton Park special?
There are not many golf courses in the United Kingdom that can say they are based within a National Trust estate. That in itself gives Belton Park a special feeling.
That means that throughout your round, you may well encounter the herd of fallow deer that will be roaming the fairways. From the 4th tee, take a moment to look to your left and you will see the Belton Estate in all its glory.
The course being 27 holes also gives Belton Park another level compared to some in the area. Having the ability to choose which nine or 18 that you want to play is a great option.

Where is it?
Belton Park is in a prime location, just to the east of the town of Grantham. The A1 is just a couple of miles from the venue, while Grantham is also home to a station stop on the main east-coast train line between London and Edinburgh, meaning that Belton Park is easily reachable.
