Charlie Woods has been of keen interest to golf fans ever since he stepped on the PNC Championship scene with his father in 2020.
With each passing year, he’s shown the swing mannerisms, recoil, and club twirls that his father Tiger Woods did for all of those years while he dominated the sport on the PGA Tour.
Since playing in the family-orientated PGA Tour event for the first time, he has been spotted playing in junior events in Florida with Tiger watching and sometimes caddying for him, while continuing his rehabilitation to return to competitive action.
Back in February 2024, Charlie entered a pre-qualifier for the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches in Florida, ambitiously attempting to qualify for a tournament on the US circuit.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go to plan for Charlie as he struggled to an 86, a scorecard that featured a 12 on the par-4 7th hole.
At the age of 15, he then attempted to qualify for the US Open in April. He shot an 81 at the Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie at an event that allowed the top players to enter the Local Qualifying stage.
Despite this disappointment in 2024, you could safely assume Charlie won’t stop there at such a young age. As he has shown at the PNC Championship, he is an exciting young golfer that surely there will be more from in the future.
It was at the 2023 PNC Championship when Charlie was presented to the media for the first time at length, where he spoke alongside Tiger. The pair are yet to win the event, having come second to John Daly and his son John Daly II in 2021.
What’s in Charlie Woods’ bag?
Charlie uses the latest Qi4D driver from TaylorMade. Together with the manufacturer, he has made some micro cosmetic changes to the driver face to suit Woods’ eye better – wanted to see more face at address.

Uses Rickie Fowler’s custom mini-driver, well the same specs anyways. Unlike some golfers who may change the top-end of their set-up constantly depending on courses and conditions, Woods opts to keep his mini driver in the bag most of the time.
He also uses a TaylorMade Qi4D seven-wood. This is his interchangeable club that goes in and out of his bag.
As well as a fairway wood and a mini driver, he also has a 3-iron in the bag. Originally he had the TaylorMade P770 set at 19° but has since increased the loft to 20° to get a bit more height on his approaches. He prefers it off the tee, than out the rough which is understandle.
For the most part Charlie plays the same wedges as his father. He has a split set of the TaylorMade P7-TWs in the bag which helps he to work the ball easier. Equally, he compliments them with the slightly more forgiving TaylorMade P7CB 3-iron and 4-iron.
What may come as a surprise is that he actually has two 3-irons in the bag. An unusual move that is replicated often. As well as a TaylorMade P7CB, he has a TaylorMade P770.
Just like Tiger, Charlie doesn’t use a gap wedge. In part, he says this is because his pitching wedge is set at 49°. Therefore, he only has two other wedges in the bag alongside his pitching wedge.
It was recently revealed that he has switched from the Titleist Pro v1x to the TaylorMade TP5. He credits this move to the TP5 launching a tad lower, as well as producing more spin around the greens.
