Pavon in Paradise! Frenchman makes hole-in-one at 2023 US Open
The 15th hole at Los Angeles Country Club will be one of the most intriguing and challenging holes of the 2023 US Open.
However, Matthieu Pavon made light work of the short hole in the first round of the championship on Thursday.
The Frenchman stepped up and hit his ball the perfect 124-yard number, throwing it past the pin and spinning it back into the cup.

Pavon qualified for the US Open by carding 8-under-par across 36 holes at Walton Heath. He is making his third appearance at the tournament.
After coming tied for 25th at Shinnecock Hills in 2018, he failed to make the weekend at Pebble Beach the following year.
Pavon is the first-ever French player to make an ace at a US Open.
A few hours later, Sam Burns also made a hole-in-one on the very same hole. The American celebrated with his caddie and threw his club in the air.
It was the 26-year-old’s first ace on the PGA Tour in 401 rounds playing alongside Dustin Johnson and Keith Mitchell.
