Players Championship Sunday Tee Times 2025: An early finish!

The final round of the Players Championship has been incredibly exciting in recent years

Scottie Scheffler didn’t have the final tee time of the 2024 Players Championship.

He didn’t even have the penultimate tee time and he still came from deep in the field and the tee sheet to become the first player to win the golden trophy at TPC Sawgrass twice in a row.

Scheffler made up five shots with a stunning 64 while playing in the fourth-to-last pairing with Nate Lashley, half an hour before leaders Xander Schauffele and Wyndham Clark took to the course.

There will be a slight change this year for the final round and it will mean an early finish.

With the poor weather forecast players will be going out in three balls off holes one and ten – teeing off between 8-10.01am local time / 12-2.01pm UK time. The hope is that The Players Championship winner is crowned before the storms arrive 3-5pm local time / 7-9pm in the UK.

Will someone do similar to Scheffler in 2024 – post a score and wait for the leaders to falter as they battle the course and weather conditions.

Last year Scheffler was in the clubhouse on 20-under-par and had to survive three chances for extra holes when Schauffele, Clark and Harman tackled the 18th hole.

Clark missed out in gut-wrenching fashion. His birdie putt horseshoes around the cup and just like at the Arnold Palmer Invitational the previous week, he came second to Scheffler.

Only time will tell if similar drama will unfold – one thing is for sure, it will be great viewing as the contenders tackle, most likely in the wind, the 17th and then one of the hardest closing holes in golf.

This is who is in contention and in the final groups of the 2025 Players Championship:

Players Championship Sunday tee times

Times below for those teeing off hole 1 first

12pm – Jesper Svensson, Aaron Rai, Keegan Bradley

12.11pm – Davis Riley, Justin Thomas, Justin Lower

12.22pm – Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Mac Meissner

12.33pm – Tom Hoge, Taylor Moore, Taylor Pendrith

12.44pm – Tom Kim, Daniel Berger, Denny McCarthy

12.55pm – Sam Ryder, Scottie Scheffler, Min Woo Lee

1.06pm – Chris Kirk, Davis Thompson, Robert MacIntyre

1.17pm – Jake Knapp, J.T. Poston, Ryan Gerard

1.28pm – Max McGreevy, Patrick Cantlay, Sepp Straka

1.39pm – Akshay Bhatia, Danny Walker, Stephan Jaeger

1.50pm – Alex Smalley, Corey Conners, Rory McIlroy

2.01 pm J.J. Spaun, Bud Cauley, Lucas Glover

Recent winners of the Players Championship include Scheffler, Cameron Smith, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy, so it has only been the big guns dominating proceedings.

It is looking likely though that in 2025 a non ‘big gun’ might triumph – or will a familiar face shoot a low score and just sit, wait and eventually win?
