Chipping is hard. I mean really hard.
But professional golfers make subtly lofting the ball out of thick rough and close to the hole, or even into the cup, look like equivalent of a couple of kickie ups in football.
It must take hours and hours of practice to perfect the technique required to become a master with a wedge.
So hats off to the artists in this quick nine of greatest chip shots for treating us to some amazing moments.
9. Jason Day, 2016 Players Championship
On route to his Players Championship title in 2016, Jason Day pulled off some magic with hi wedge during the third round.
8. Bill Haas, 2011 Tour Championship
Everything was on the line for Bill Haas. He had hit his second shot on the 17th hole at the Tour Championship left of the green and in the water.
Instead of taking a drop Haas hit the ball out of the water and went on to win the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup.
7. Phil Mickelson, 2014 The Barclays
Would any other golfer try this shot?
Mickelson hit his drive on the drivable par-4 5th hole, into the hospitality for the second time that week.
Any other golfer would have taken a drop but not Leftie.
6. Miguel Angel Jimenez, 2010 Open Championship
Miguel Angel Jimenez found himself in trouble after he hit his second shot on St Andrews’ famous Road Hole up against the wall.

5. Tiger Woods, 2012 Memorial Tournament
Tiger Woods could probably fill this list by himself, such is the genius of the 14-time Major winner.
Check out this beautiful shot at the 2012 Memorial Tournament. Woods would go on to win the competition that year for a fifth time.
4. Tom Watson, 1982 US Open
Tom Watson’s second shot at the par-3 17th hole on the final day of the 1982 US Open at Pebble Beach was one of the greatest chip shots in golf history.

The chip-in the par 3 gave Watson a one-shot lead over Jack Nicklaus, who was sat in the clubhouse on four under.
Watson, who won eight Major titles in his career, then birdied the 18th to land the title two shots ahead of the Golden Bear.
3. Phil Mickelson, 2010 BMW Championship
No chip shot top 5 list would be complete without Phil Mickelson.
Lefty is a master around the greens and his daring flop shot is the envy of golfers across the globe.
But the video above from the 2010 BMW Championship displays a more deft shot in Mickelson’s repertoire.

2. Tim Herron, 2012 US Open
OK, so perhaps this shot was a mis-hit that turned into a fluke shot.
I am not aware of any professional golfer who deliberately aims at the pin from just off the green, but it still looks like an amazing shot!
1. Tiger Woods, 2005 Masters
This isn’t just one of the greatest chip shots of all time, this is perhaps one of the best shots of any type in golf’s history.
And Woods’ chip-in for a birdie at the 16th also came at a crucial moment with Chris DiMarco breathing down his neck.
Woods would go on to win the tournament in a play-off with DiMarco.
