Remember THAT jumper that Jason Day was wearing on Friday? Wondering why we only saw it for the first few holes of his day?
It turns out that the Australian was told to remove it by Augusta National themselves.
“Respectfully, you do that because it’s all about the tournament here, and I understand that. I respect the tournament. That’s what we’re here to do is try and play and win the green jacket,” Day said following his third round on Saturday.

Maybe this is a sign that if you are playing in a major tournament, you shouldn’t be doing any manual labour in the morning…

We know that Bryson is somewhat different compared to most when it comes to his technique, equipment and game management.
A six-degree driver is at the top of the bag, and it’s the first time that Augusta National has ever seen a Krank driver…
Add in the jumbo grips and the fact that every iron in his bag is the same size, and you can understand why he is nicknamed ‘The Scientist’!

Imagine being out for six months after shoulder surgery and then coming back to the Masters and firing an opening round 68.
Can’t imagine it? It’s not possible? That’s what we would have said as well!
However, for 2016 champion Danny Willett, it was very much possible. The Englishman, playing in his first competitive round in more than 200 days, shot a 4-under-par 68 to sit in a tie for 2nd.
9:00 pm
Over the years, there has been some terrible outfits at the Masters. The opening day of the 2024 edition saw some additions to the list, but whose was worse?
Jason Day‘s parachute pants, or Sergio Garcia‘s entire ensemble?
8.10 pm
Our man on the ground – Steve Carroll – spent some time walking around the grounds on the opening day.
From the conditions, to the course itself, take a look at his thoughts here.

It’s just gone lunchtime at Augusta National, and the patrons will be thinking about grabbing some food before the afternoon wave.
At most golf events, you’re looking at $10 or $12 for a bite and about the same for a beer.
That isn’t the case at Augusta! Check out our full piece on the incredible food and drink prices HERE.

The Masters three honorary starters – Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tom Watson – were united in their desire to see golf’s civil war come to an end.
“We all know golf is fractured with the LIV Tour and the PGA Tour doing the different things they are doing,” Watson said, before revealing a passionate, and impromptu, speech he’d given at Tuesday’s Champions Dinner.

THE MASTERS HAS BEGUN!
1.30 pm
Let’s get you in the mood for the 2024 Masters…
NCG’s Steve Carroll is on the ground at the Masters, so allow him to get you in the mood for the Masters with some colour about what Augusta National means to him…
12.38 pm
Unfortunately, the weather forecast at Augusta National wasn’t the most promising for day one and on Wednesday night, the night before the action was set to get underway, we had this update from the club:
“Due to forecasted weather on Thursday, we have decided to delay all gate openings in the morning. All Masters free parking will be closed until further notice while gate openings are delayed. Further updates will be shared no later than 5 am via Masters.com and social channels.”
Then, on Thursday morning before the golfers arrived at the golf course:
“We continue to monitor the weather closely. Gate openings and tee times have been delayed until further notice. The first round will not begin before 9 am.”
So we have somewhat of a false start to the action down Magnolia Lane. But since it is underway, we will provide you with updates on the action and the best things we saw from Thursday in Georgia.
Just after 12.30 pm on Thursday, the Masters issued an update to say that the tee times for round one would be pushed back to 10.30 am local time, which is 3.30 pm UK time. The full list of tee times for both rounds one and two is below:
