Byeong Hun An is one of the leading South Koreans in the men’s game, but he is still awaiting that maiden PGA Tour win.

Born in the Korean capital of Seoul in September 1991 to sporting parents, An was always going to be an athlete. He took up golf at an early age and would go on to win the U.S. Amateur at the age of just 17, becoming the youngest man in history to do so. He turned professional two years later, and has gone on to win on the European Challenge Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and the DP World Tour.

The first of those wins was on the European Challenge Tour, coming at the Rolex Trophy in August 2014. Just nine months later, the Korean took what remains his biggest win to date. He was victorious at the DP World Tour’s flagship event – the BMW PGA Championship. The win helped him to Rookie of the Year honours on the tour that year. He would have to wait nine years before winning on the DP World Tour again, but that came on home soil at the Genesis Championship in Incheon, Korea.

On the international stage, An has represented his country at two Olympic Games, doing so in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, and in Paris in 2024. He has also played in the Presidents Cup for the International Team, and made two appearance for South Korea in the World Cup of Golf.
