It’s one of the most popular tour stops on the PGA Tour, so let’s preview the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am, the next Signature Event

Pebble Beach green fee

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am is one of the most highly anticipated and exciting events on the PGA Tour, outside of the majors of course.

It is a unique event in that it utilises two golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links and the spectacular Spyglass Hill which is just a wedge from the main venue.

It is also enjoyed by fans on the course and at home because of the celebrities and athletes that compete. There is never a dull moment when Bill Murray is on the scene, for example.

The event is the second Signature Event of the 2025 PGA Tour season and there won’t be a 36-hole cut. Therefore, every player that starts will finish, guaranteeing the participation of the biggest stars for four days.

In 2024, Wyndham Clark won the event when it was cut down to 54 holes. It was his third win on the PGA Tour and first since winning the US Open in 2023. He won $3.6 million for his troubles.

In 2025, Scottie Scheffler entered the event to make his seasonal reappearance and first start since suffering a puncture wound in his hand while preparing Christmas dinner.

Virtually every PGA Tour star is in the field to play in the famous Pro Am: Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg, Sahith Theegala, Adam Scott, Shane Lowry, Viktor Hovland, Justin Thomas.

How does the Pebble Beach Pro Am work?

The event used to host 156 professionals and 156 amateurs, but this format has almost halved in 2025. There are 80 professionals who are paired with an amateur partner.

In the first two days, each pair plays at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill and they play a better ball format, while the professionals also play the stroke play tournament.

It’s in the pro am portion of the event where the likes of Bill Murray, Kevin Costner, Tom Brady, Kenny G, Justin Timberlake, and Mark Wahlberg have previously been seen.

Only the professionals play in the final two rounds which are held at Pebble Beach and there are also fewer celebrities in the pro am field as well at this stage.

Who won the Pebble Beach Pro Am 2024?

Wyndham Clark shot a 60 in the third round of the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am to win the event that was cut short to 54 holes due to bad weather. He left an eagle putt short on the final hole to shoot a 59.

Clark’s round of 12-under-par helped him to finish one shot ahead of Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg on 17-under-par. Frenchman Matthieu Pavon came third, while Mark Hubbard and Thomas Detry finished tied for fourth.

The final round was cancelled on Sunday evening after heavy storms hit the Monterey Peninsula through the day.

“It was kind of surreal; it really felt like I won the tournament with that two-putt even though it was a Saturday,” Clark said on Sunday after the victory was official.

“I think that was because I broke the course record. Everyone gave me a standing ovation. It honestly felt like the end of the tournament and that’s what made yesterday so unique and weird because I would have thought that it was Sunday. So that’s what made today and all of last night very unique; it felt like I won the tournament yet I still had one more round.”

What celebrities are playing in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am?

While we await the pro am field announcement, it is very possible that some familiar faces such as NFL legend Tom Brady and iconic actor Bill Murray could be in the field.

NFL stars Aaron Rodgers, Larry Fitzgerald Jr Josh Allen, and US diplomat Condoleezza Rice played in 2024, so there is a wide variety of which public figures could turn up to this PGA Tour event.
