Shot of the century! Golfer hits driver on Pebble Beach’s famous tiny par-3
Stop the count! Because we think we’ve just found a clear winner for shot of the year – heck, maybe event shot of the century – courtesy of a club golfer producing magic at Pebble Beach in some of the worst conditions we’ve ever seen.
The scene was the par-3 7th, the iconic coastline hole which plays just under 100-yards off the yellow tees. Typically, this would be just a wedge for even us choppers, but the degree of difficulty reached a whole new level here as gale force winds forced our hero to pull out driver(!) and produce the stuff of legend.
Captured by Michael Knoll on Instagram – which in itself was impressive enough – here’s how the magic played out in all its glory…
Just insane, and one which changes the definition of ‘wet weather golfer’ entirely.
