The PGA Championship comes second in the major schedule when it used to be glory’s last shot in August.

Aronimink Golf Club will host the event in 2026. The Pennsylvania venue hosted the PGA Championship for the first time in 1962 when Gary Player won.

Aronimink hosted the US Amateur in 1977 and the Senior PGA Championship in 2003. It also held the AT&T National on the PGA Tour in 2010 and 2011, as well as the BMW Championship in 2018. Kim Sei-young also won the Women’s PGA here in 2020.

Scottie Scheffler was at his brilliant best at the PGA Championship in 2025, to win his third major title. He went on to win The Open Championship at Royal Portrush two months later.

A unique part of the PGA Championship is that PGA Professionals can qualify for the event in a tournament that acts as a tailor-made pathway. Michael Block was one man to take advantage of this pathway in 2023 when he rose to stardom, making a hole-in-one while playing with Rory McIlroy at Oak Hill. He qualified again in 2025 through the PGA Professionals Championship.

Below, we have the PGA Championship field for 2026, which is updated each week when new entrants earn a spot. It might look a little light at the moment, with some key players missing, but much of the qualification criteria hasn’t come into play just yet.

About the author

Matt Chivers
Matt Chivers

Matt has been playing golf since the age of 13 and was largely inspired to take up the game by countless family members who played golf during his childhood.

Matt is a member at Royal Cinque Ports in Deal playing off a 5 handicap, just a pitching wedge away from his hometown of Dover where he went to school and grew up. He has previously been a member at Etchinghill and Walmer and Kingsdown in Kent.

Having studied history at the University of Liverpool, Matt went on to pass his NCTJ Exams in Manchester a year later to fulfil his lifelong ambition of becoming a journalist. He picked up work experience along the way at places such as the Racing Post, the Independent, Sportsbeat and the Lancashire Evening Post.

Matt joined NCG in February 2023 and is the website’s main source of tour news, features and opinion. He has reported live from events such as the Masters, The Open, the Ryder Cup and The Players Championship, having also interviewed and spoken to many of the biggest names in the sport.

Consuming tour golf on what is a 24/7 basis, you can come to Matt for informed views on the game and the latest updates on the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, LPGA Tour, Ladies European Tour and LIV Golf.

What’s in Matt’s bag: Cleveland HiBore XL Driver driver, Cobra LTDx 3-wood, Benross BR-Pro irons, Ping Glide 4.0 wedges, Odyssey putter.
