Biggest Ryder Cup wins: The worst thrashings in history!
Ludvig Aberg and Viktor Hovland made history at the 2023 Ryder Cup with an almighty beating of Brooks Koepka and Scottie Scheffler in Rome…
Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg inflicted the biggest-ever win in an 18-hole match during the Ryder Cup Saturday foursomes.
The Scandinavian pair completely dominated World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and five-time major champion Brooks Koepka to win 9&7 at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome.
Hovland and Aberg won nine of the 11 holes the United States could manage in the second match of the second day’s opening session.
This took Team Europe to 7.5-1.5 up at the time and heading towards another win on home soil, with their unbeaten run on the continent dating back to 1993.
NCG has delved back into the history books and looked at the biggest beat-downs in the history of the Ryder Cup matches.
Hovland and Aberg may have set a new mark, but let’s take a look at the previous records across the different formats of the event.

Between 1973 and 1977 when it was the USA versus Great Britain and Ireland, the former won the 1975 matches 21-11.
When it was just Great Britain against America, the Americans won 23.5-8.5 in 1967.
