Moving day at the Masters. It is a crucial day if you want to be in with a shout of winning at Augusta National and donning the Green Jacket.
There are the players who want to win the event and find themselves at the top of the leaderboard, and those who scraped through the cut and now find themselves with a third-round tee time at the weekend.
The cut stood at 2-over-par in 2025 and there was a host of players that missed the weekend, including Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Cameron Smith and Bob MacIntyre.
In 2024, the final group on Saturday went out at 2.45 pm (7.45 pm UK time) which was a little later than the final group in the final round. Bryson DeChambeau and Max Homa went out last in last year’s third round, but they respectively came tied for sixth and tied for third.
The eventual winner Scottie Scheffler played with young Dane and DP World Tour star Nicolai Hojgaard in the penultimate group. Scheffler outscored Hojgaard by one shot and went on to win his second Masters title by four shots from Ludvig Aberg.
In 2025, Justin Rose led DeChambeau by a single shot on 8-under-par after the Englishman followed up his first-round 65 with a 1-under 71 on Friday. These two are paired together in the third round, teeing off at 7.40 pm in the UK – 2.40 pm US time.
Next is Rory McIlroy, who is chasing the career grand slam for the 11th time. He shot a super 66 on Friday to propel himself into contention, two shots behind Rose. He is with Corey Conners of Canada at 7.30 pm UK time and 2.30 pm US time, who is also 6-under-par.
