There aren’t many better things than watching a major championship in golf, especially the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at PGA Frisco.

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship has provided some extremely exciting finishes down the years. Amy Yang won her first title at this tournament in 2024 at Sahalee by three shots.

The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is full of history and heritage. It began in 1955 and was first won by Beverly Hanson of the USA at Orchard Ridge Country Club, when it was a match play event. Marlene Hagge won the first stroke play edition in a playoff at Forest Lake Country Club in 1956.

The legendary Mickey Wright then won four of the next seven renewals.

In 2024, Amy Yang held a two-shot lead over two players heading into the last round, and she shot a 72 in the final round to take the title and the $1,560,000 winner’s cheque.

After the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is done, up next in terms of major championships on the LPGA Tour schedule is the Amundi Evian Championship in France comes next in July.

Finally, we have the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, which is booked in at the end of July and crossing into the start of August.

In 2025, Nelly Korda is playing with Jeeno Thitikul and Lydia Ko and defending champion Amy Yang is playing with Ruoning Yin and In Gee Chun. Charley Hull is playing with Ayaka Furue and Jin Young Ko.
