Bolingbrook hosted the LIV Golf Chicago event in 2025, marking the second time this venue has hosted this event after it was hosted at Rich Harvest Farms in 2023.

In 2024, Jon Rahm won in Chicago, securing a three-shot victory over Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia. And in 2025, Rahm lost in a playoff to Dean Burmester, a playoff that also featured Josele Ballester.

The LIV Golf Chicago was booked in the same week as the FedEx St.Jude Championship on the PGA Tour at TPC Southwind, which had a purse of $20,000,00 and was won by Justin Rose, who banked $3,600,000.

So far in the LIV Golf League, a variety of players have starred. Adrian Meronk won the season-opener in Riyadh, Niemann won in Adelaide, and Sergio Garcia won in Hong Kong. Niemann then doubled his tally for 2025 in Singapore, so it has been a super year for the Chilean so far. Bryson DeChambeau won in Korea shortly before playing well at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow again.

Niemann won again in Virginia, and then Patrick Reed won for the first time in his LIV career in Dallas. Niemann won again in the UK, and then South Africa’s Burmester took victory at Bolingbrook.

LIV Golf Chicago payout

There was a new DP World Tour event in the same week as LIV Golf Chicago. It was the Nexo Championship in Scotland at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, and it had a purse of $2,750,000. There was no LPGA Tour event in the same week.

While the payouts for LIV Golf events are $20 million, the total is $25 million, as there is $5 million divided among the winning teams. The winning team at the LIV Golf Korea event, for example, DeChambeau’s Crushers, earned $750,000 each, but that is invested back in the team.

The four-man squad in second place, Smash, earned $375,000 a piece, and the team in third, Torque, earned $125,000 each, but as we’ve said, this figure gets invested back into the team. It is believed it doesn’t go in the players’ pockets.

The LIV Golf Chicago payout will appear below. Let’s examine the purses of the events on the corresponding tours in the same week…
