Amy Yang is one of South Korea’s finest golfers, with a major championship and six LPGA Tour titles to her name.

Yang was born in July 1989 in Inson, South Korea, and began playing the sport at the age of 10. She, along with her family, moved to the Gold Coast of Australia a few years later to provide Yang with more opportunities to play. It worked, as she soon became a winner in the professional game. She did so despite being an amateur, winning the ANZ Ladies Open as a 16-year-old.

Yang became a record-breaker on the Ladies European Tour with the win, taking victory at 16 years and 192 days. She has since gone on to win on the LPGA Tour of Korea and the LPGA Tour, winning six times on the latter. Those have included a hat-trick of victories at the Honda LPGA Thailand, along with a win at the CME Globe Tour Championship.

The South Korean’s biggest victory came in her 75th major start. She was a runaway winner at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in 2024 to claim her maiden major title. She had previously earned 12 top-5 finishes in majors. Yang also represented her country at the Olympics in 2016, narrowly missing out on a medal.
