5 star review
NCG SUMMARY

The Positano golf shoe would be an excellent addition to any golfer’s collection. They are smart, comfy, and suitable for the pub after golf, as well as the fairway bunker on the 18th.

I like these shoes for hitting balls, teaching, pottering around the club, going for a meal, and playing golf. The soles are so solid and sturdy for a spikeless option that they might just convert some of the spiked-only golfers to the dark side.

PROS

  • Extremely comfy
  • Look very smart
  • Big, thick spikeless nubs
  • Very waterproof

CONS

  • I don’t have enough pairs!

Duca Del Cosma Positano Golf Shoe Review: First Impressions

These Duca Del Cosma golf shoes have a lot going for them. First, I wear a lot of blue so they go with all my outfits. Second of all, I am a huge fan of the Italian brand. I love the design and how they never waver in class. These shoes are made from premium Italian Nappa leather, which is of super high quality. That first try-on feeling in these shoes is brilliant; the leather is soft, but the soles feel so sturdy that I want to hit some balls straight away.

NCG Verdict

I only really wear two brands of golf shoes, and Duca Del Cosma is one of them. They have never failed to deliver on quality, and as I am always in shoes, I may as well be in a good pair. Golf shoes serve many purposes for me; I wear them to teach, I wear them to play in, I wear them to the driving range for practice, and I never change them after a round before heading in for a beer. You could say my requirements are broad.

I rarely come across a pair of shoes I can use for all these activities, but the Duca Del Cosma Positano golf shoes might just be the ones. The first big win for these shoes is how waterproof they are; my first test was out at Sand Moor in Leeds, and whilst the course is pretty dry at the moment, it is damp in spots, and my feet remained dry throughout the whole round. Amazingly my back foot didn’t slip, which generally happens in spikeless shoes. This is a huge nod to the Positano golf shoes and their large spikeless nubs on the sole.

These are probably more designed to be spring-summer golf shoes, so I won’t wear them out on a wet British course again. I did take them to Majorca on a 3-day press trip and wore them nonstop on the golf course. The ultra-lightweight EVA outsole makes them very comfortable and easy to wear for long periods of time.

Duca Del Cosma Positano Golf Shoe

I love how these Duca Del Cosma shoes don’t need a break-in period. You can literally take these out of the box and onto the first tee with no discomfort at all, which is not something you can say about all leather golf shoes. The insoles are also very soft, making them brilliant to stand all day and teach in. Another added benefit that Duca doesn’t advertise on the website is how you can wear these shoes into town, and they don’t look especially like golf shoes, more just fancy Italian trainers.

Something I love about these shoes is how hard-wearing they feel. I do a lot of miles in golf shoes and have had a few pairs that only last six months or so, but you can tell that these Positano shoes are different. They are built to last and easy to care for.

As you can probably tell, I have pretty much lived in these shoes since they arrived a couple of weeks ago. Duca has really knocked this shoe out of the park, and it might be the best pair I’ve tested from them. The shoes are a medium to wide fit with a heightened heel and are well worth a test if you are looking for a pair of versatile summer spikeless shoes. There are five different colour ways to choose from, so you, too, can have a pair (or multiple) that match your wardrobe.

Callaway Epic Max driver review

Jack is a PGA Golf Professional who specialises in coaching, teaching golf to beginners and top-level amateurs for 10+ years. He also loves his golf equipment and analysing the data of the latest clubs on the market using launch monitors, specialising in blade irons and low-spinning drivers despite having a chronically low ball flight.

Although Jack has no formal journalism training, He has been reading What's In The Bag articles since he started playing at 12 and studying golf swings since his dad first filmed his swing to reveal one of the worst over-the-top slice swings he reckons has ever been recorded, which set him off on the path to be a coach. His favourite club ever owned was a Ping G10 driver bought from a local top amateur with the hope that some of the quality golf shots would come with it (they didn't), and worst was a Nike SQ driver he only bought because Tiger was using it.

Jack is a member of Sand Moor Golf Club and regularly gets out on the golf course to prepare for tournaments. Jack uses a TaylorMade BRNR Mini driver, a half set of TaylorMade P7MB irons, MG4 wedges and a TaylorMade TP Reserve putter.
