What’s new? How much do they cost? And how do they perform? Levi Batty brings you the low down on the new Duca Del Cosma Orlando Pro Spike golf shoe
Duca Del Cosma make some of the most fashionable golf shoes available you can buy. The designs have that cool Italian style often imitated poorly by other brands, but are they suitable for the wet winter golf we are all so familiar with? Find out in our Duca Del Cosma Orlando Pro Spike golf shoe review.
Duca Del Cosma Orlando Pro Spike golf shoe review: NCG Summary
These are the most stable shoes I have ever worn. I’ve never had any brand loyalty but these shoes performed really well out on the course as well as looking great, so I might be Duca for life now.
These tour player-inspired shoes offer ridiculous grip and did a great job keeping me upright on quite a wet, slippy morning. The combination of traction studs and soft spikes worked like a charm.
- Extremely grippy
- Clean up well
- Very comfortable
You could definitely put me down as someone who is fairly fashion-conscious and not afraid to wear funky ‘out there’ designs. As someone who doesn’t really like the modern ‘athletic’ style shoes, I have always been fairly restricted in choice.
This puts me right in the middle of Duca Del Cosma’s target market, and as soon as I opened the box, I was sold. The spiked shoes have a real quality feel to them, and I love the small Italian flag on the tongue. A small point to note is that the shoes come with a white cotton carry bag. It obviously doesn’t affect the performance of the shoe, but it’s a nice touch that speaks volumes about the brand’s commitment to producing a premium product.
Besides the cool design, the big story here is the sole of the shoe. Duca Del Cosma has put their AirPlay 6 outsole on the Orlando Pro Spike shoe, and even to the eye, they offer incredible grip. There are eight soft spikes, and the rest of the sole is covered in 5mm traction stubs for increased stability.
On Course Testing
I wore these shoes on a wet and windy day at my home golf club in north Leeds, Sand Moor. We have quite a few elevation changes off tees and into greens at Sand Moor, so it’s a great venue to put a pair of shoes through their paces. The first point to note is how comfortable they are to wear and how fresh my feet felt at the end of 18 holes. The Orlando Pro Spike shoes have a lightweight EVA midsole for comfort around the golf course.
Now, I am blessed to have a pretty quick golf swing, and these Duca Del Cosma golf shoes absolutely help keep me upright throughout it. Speed starts from the ground up, and from an unstable platform, I would no doubt end up on the floor, but these golf shoes performed really well from all different kind of stances. If you are a golfer with quite active footwork then you should give these a try.
I also had no issue with getting wet feet throughout the round. These shoes offer a full waterproof warranty, and are made from premium materials and hand-crafted for exceptional results.
The 19th hole
Design-wise, the Orlando shoes truly stand out from the crowd. If you’re someone who likes to make a statement on the golf course, these shoes are the perfect choice. The Italian influence in their design is unmistakable, and although they are spiked shoes which would normally be unsuitable for the bar after a game, they look great as casual shoes and wouldn’t look out of place in the clubhouse.
For players that seek stable footwear, great grip and increased speed, all whilst setting yourself apart from the crowd from a looks point of view, you must give these a try. Duca Del Cosma offers a 28-day free returns policy, so it just makes sense to give them a go.
