Irons test results: Nike Vapor Pro Combo irons review
GOLD MEDAL WINNER
First impressions: Another stunner from the Nike Vapor range.
These are the irons aimed at the low-mid handicappers and are sleek and compact without being too intimidating.
They are a triumph in design and can’t be faulted.

What they say: The Vapor Pro Combo has the clean lines and workability of a blade with the power of a distance iron.
The Vapor irons blend craftsmanship, engineering expertise and design imagination resulting in a family of irons which feature a pinnacle Nike innovation called Modern Muscle.
Modern Muscle is a modification of a standard muscle-back design that moves the iron’s centre of gravity to the centre of the clubface to yield more efficient and pure strikes.

NCG verdict: I’m a long-term admirer of the Pro Combo franchise but Nike have never delivered it in as stylish and
complete a package as this.
It speaks volumes to me that the head shapes and sound were very similar to Mizuno’s, who set the standard in this category for me.
These irons deliver true yardages and look great behind the ball, so your only concern is whether or not your ball striking is consistent enough to get the best out of them.
HOT: Superb looks both in the bag and behind the ball
NOT: Compact long-iron heads
