If your shots tend to start with promise but then veer dramatically off course, whether that’s a persistent slice or a nagging hook, the Bridgestone e12 Straight might just be the ball your game’s been missing.

Bridgestone’s e12 range caters to three distinct needs; the e12 Speed for lower flight, the e12 Contact, High Launch, for those who need help elevating the ball, and the e12 Straight, our focus today, is specifically engineered to reduce side spin and promote straighter flight. Check out if it delivers on its promise in our full Bridgestone E12 Straight Golf Ball Review…..

NCG SUMMARY

The Bridgestone e12 Straight is a clever, purpose-built ball that does exactly what it claims to. It won’t blow you away with spin or distance, but that’s not the point. For the mid-to-high handicap golfer looking to stay in play, keep it straight, and build confidence off the tee, this ball delivers consistency and forgiveness in a package that won’t break the bank. It’s not flashy, but it’s functional, reliable, and impressively user-friendly.

Bridgestone E12 Straight Golf Ball Review: First Impressions

Bridgestone has equipped the e12 Straight with a Contact Force dimple pattern, a unique design that visibly sets it apart from its e12 siblings. This dimple structure reduces unwanted sidespin and flight curvature, meaning your shots, particularly off the tee, have a better chance of flying straight toward your target. While that might come at the cost of maximum distance, especially when compared with the e12 Speed or e12 High Launch, the trade-off will appeal to players prioritising accuracy over raw yardage.

Bridgestone E12 Straight Golf Ball Review

From tee to green, I found the e12 Straight felt consistent and solid. It’s not a urethane-covered ball, and that becomes most apparent on wedge shots and putts, where it lacks the soft, premium feel better players might crave. Still, for its price point and performance category, the feedback was still positive.

NCG Verdict

What I found that my testing showed was that the ball launched high and flew with minimal curvature. With wedge shots, it spun at around 5,800 rpm, which is a touch lower than what I would expect from a Tour-level ball, but absolutely sufficient for club golfers.

Bridgestone E12 Straight Golf Ball Review

Mid-iron testing with my 7-iron delivered a ball speed of 115 mph, resulted in a 159-yard carry and 167 total yards. I noticed, the trajectory was high, the spin was moderate, and the ball flew straight—a promising combination for players looking for consistency on approach shots.

As you can see from the data below, my driver performance wasn’t exceptional but remained solid. The ball speed I produced came in at 156 mph, with a 2,600 rpm spin rate. My carry distance was 265 yards with a total rollout to 283. While it’s not the longest driver ball on the market, it’s respectably long given its low-spin design and straight-flight characteristics.

Bridgestone has also added a small but thoughtful touch, the Mindset logo. This is designed to assist players in focusing during their pre-shot routine, it adds a unique visual alignment aid that also promotes mental clarity, a detail many recreational players might find surprisingly useful.

Final Verdict

Overall, I think the Bridgestone e12 Straight is a compelling option for golfers looking for value, forgiveness, and, most importantly, straighter shots. It’s not the longest, nor the spinniest, but for many amateurs it might just be the most helpful.

Who should play it? Golfers who struggle with excessive shot shape and aren’t chasing elite spin or Tour-level feel. If you want to keep it in play and hit more fairways, this is a worthy addition to your bag.

Callaway Epic Max driver review
Jack Backhouse

A member of the PGA for 13 years, Jack has lived golf for more than half his life. Inspired by Tiger Wood’s winning putt at the 2008 US Open, an obsession began with watching slow motion golf swings on the internet and reading What’s In The Bag articles in magazines.

Not destined for a life behind the desk in a pro shop, Jack has focussed more on coaching, working closely with regional teams in North Yorkshire and helping golfers of all levels on their journey to enjoying playing the game more. Jack has coached many junior golfers into the county teams, and once worked with a player at the 2018 Open Championship at Carnoustie.

After letting his game fall apart prior to COVID, Jack rediscovered his love for playing golf after joining Silloth Golf Club in 2020 and whipping round the windy, firm links course. Playing regularly with a half set of clubs he has a passion for shot making and developing skill, and claims to have the sharpest 30-100 yard game in the North of England (only because he doesn’t know anyone in the South), and now maintains a +1 handicap at a club much closer to home, Sand Moor GC.

Jack has always tinkered with his equipment, once building his own Frankenstein one length set of clubs after watching Bryson DeChambeau burst onto the scene after winning the US Amateur. He firmly believes in getting custom fit and is happy to debate anyone about blade irons being superior to any other iron category.

Jack loves: playing quickly, 2 ball golf, match play, heathland courses, pencil bags, foursomes, Tiger Wood’s swing 2005-2009.

Jack hates: buggies, unnecessary trees, giving shots, the 7 iron loft debate, graphite shaft lovers weird superiority complex.
