There are a lot of stylish golfers out there. And there are quite a few who looked like they got dressed in the dark.
But rather than getting too judgemental about the wardrobe choices on Thursday at the US Open, we’ve just picked out a few which caught our eye.
Stylish golfers at Shinnecock Hills: Hideki Matsuyama
We always look forward to see what the Japanese star has in store for us at a major.
Like it or hate it, you can’t ignore it. He’s an absolute superstar in Japan and it’s easy to see why.
His apparel deal, like his club and ball deal, is also with Srixon but the shirts are actually made by Descente – who also sponsor Danny Willett (below).
Stylish golfers at Shinnecock Hills: Jordan Spieth
This Neon Coral (a new one for me too) polo was pretty out there by Spieth’s standards.
We’re used to a much more reserved look. But I’m liking the colourful Jordan.
If you are too, you can probably buy this Infinite Polo on the Under Armour website.
Stylish golfers at Shinnecock Hills: Danny Willett
Danny Willett was ranked 11th in the world when he signed a clothing deal with Descente. He’s now 413th.
But the Sheffield lad seems to have turned a corner with his form and with his wardrobe.
We’ve seen him rock up at a few majors over the last couple of years looking like he’s on his way to a drum n’ bass gig.
Check out some of his outfits on the Descente website.
Stylish golfers at Shinnecock Hills: Rickie Fowler
Rickie Fowler looks really smooth these days. But can then undo his good work by dressing head to toe in orange on a Sunday.
But still, he’s done more than anyone to move golf fashion into the 21st century.
All his Puma gear can be purchased here.
Stylish golfers at Shinnecock Hills: Justin Thomas
Hmmm. I’ve normally got a lot of time for JT’s Ralph Lauren outfits but I was both surprised and disappointed with these trousers.
My first thought was pyjamas.
But let’s not go down the road of saying what people should and shouldn’t be wearing on the golf course.
If you want to wear pyjamas, wear pyjamas. With a pair of ankle socks and some FootJoy icons…
Stylish golfers at Shinnecock Hills: Cameron Smith
This 24-year-old Australian is going places. Just look at that belt.
Smith wears Original Penguin shirts and could easily head straight from Shinnecock Hills to an NYC hipster bar.
Oh and he’s using the one of the new Titleist TS drivers which I’ve been writing about when not judging people’s fashion senses.
And finally…
A special mention to Jason Dufner for rocking these superb FootJoy visors this week.
Iconic brand. Iconic venue.

With no cap deal in place, Dufner had been purchasing hats from pro shops and merchandise tents in his last few events.
What a legend.
