First Impressions
The Stromberg Athena Mid Layer looks really smart, a classic black and white colouring with smart branding of the heat-sealed transfer print of the Claret Jug and the Stromberg name. I usually don’t differ too much from the plain colours (the less attention the better on a golf course) so this was ideal while still making a subtle statement.

Putting it on, the garment felt really light and easy to move around in. It fitted well without noticing any tightness at all. My only slight niggle for the mid-layer is the arms were slightly long, most probably my strange body shape more than a fitting problem. Either way, a small roll-up or pull-up on the sleeves solved this issue straight away.
On The Course
On the course, the mid-layer was a joy to wear. Designed with stretch construction, it gave me all the freedom of movement I required for the golf course.
The material is moisture-wicking and offers an impressive UPF 50 protection rating to keep you safe from harmful rays. The front zip opening for adjustability was also welcomed when it got a little warm or cool. Due to its lightweight material, it also folded up really easily and snuck into my golf bag with no problems.

The 19th hole
All in all, I was really happy with the Stromberg Athena mid-layer. The design looks great, and it is extremely lightweight and comfortable. I am a huge fan of the branding of the Claret Jug, smartly placed on the collar, just below the neck collar and the back and on the left arm sleeve. They are subtly placed and look incredibly smart. A great addition for any golfer, it offers a lightweight option as a pullover whilst looking great on the course.
