OceanTee Women’s Manta Mid-Layer review: First Impressions
At first glance, this mid-layer offers a stylish addition to your golfing wardrobe. The two-tone design is simple yet works well, with the top half and sleeves being a lighter shade and the torso being a darker shade. The OceanTee logo is situated on the sleeve and matched according to the garment’s colour.

Ocean Tee is all about creating products using sustainable resources and methods with this mid-layer being no different. Comprised of 100% Merino Wool, the fabric has an incredibly soft texture. Unlike traditional woolen golf jumpers, this is much thinner. Whilst this means it’s not as warm as other woolen options it is certainly more breathable, making it more versatile between seasons.
OceanTee Women’s Manta Mid-Layer review: On The Course
For someone who likes a little bit of wiggle room in their clothing, the mid-layer was certainly more on the tighter side for me. Being a UK 12 in tops I opted for a medium.
As a fairly tall female at 5ft 8, I have a wider arm span than most, meaning that after completing a swing I often found myself having to pull my sleeve back down. Positively this meant that the sleeves didn’t interfere with my grip however on colder days this wasn’t ideal for keeping warm. Overall, I felt like I would have been more comfortable with a bigger size.
Despite the sizing, I still felt like I got a nice amount of flexibility from the mid-layer. The thin feel of the Merino Wool certainly contributed to this.
I enjoyed the texture of the mid-layer and felt like it was a great all-year-round piece. It also provided a great amount of breathability which also helps with odour control. The fabric also worked well with little creasing after being stored in my bag for part of the round.

The quarter zip design meant that it was easy to slip on and off. It also offered a high collar which could be fully zipped to keep the cold off your neck – yet this was a little tight all the way up.
OceanTee Women’s Manta Mid-Layer review: The 19th hole
Being a quarter zip, this is a versatile piece and could easily be worn off the course. With the OceanTee logo being discretely located on the left sleeve in a similar colour to the mid-layer, it contributes to the casual look. This makes this piece better value for money, although at £89.99 it will take quite an obvious chunk out of your bank account.
