Nike are on of the biggest sports manufacturer brands in the world, so it was only right to see what sunglasses offering they would have. And, they didn’t disappoint.

Here’s what we thought of Nike’s Ember P FV240- Polarized 410 sunglasses.

NCG SUMMARY

These sunglasses are a great option for both on course use, as well as everyday wear. They were extremely comfortable to wear and fitted nicely, without any slanting.

The polaroid lenses were very practical in blocking out the sun, to ensure they were very playable for every type of shot.

Whilst being practical and stylish they still offered at a decent price. There’s no need to break the bank for this pair of sunglasses.

First Impressions

I loved the design. The square/rectangle frame shape is what I prefer from my sunglasses, for both on and off course use. Although, there are other colours available, I was a big fan of the black frame and blue tinted lenses. I thought this colour way worked really well, remaining fairly subdued and professional but still having some style. So, these caught my eye immediately.

Practically, they were very lightweight and comfortable. They were sturdy in and didn’t slide off whilst playing. I also loved how they looked whilst wearing them. Personally, I have trouble finding a pair of sunglasses that feel comfortable but also look great, these certainly tick that box.

NCG Review

There wasn’t anything that I could particularly fault the Nike sunglasses with. The lenses were excellent in doing what sunglasses should, blocking out the light. I tested the blue mirror lenses which tinted the viewing, but I was still able to see the ball well enough. Additionally, I was still able to judge the required shot when stood over the ball.

When I did test the sunnies it wasn’t the most summery of days, but the sun was out, and was during a rare sunny weekend in March! I was still able to get a good indication of their prowess in brighter conditions and in more adverse and gloomy weather, which isn’t exactly unique for the UK, they worked well in that too.

If you’re after a pair of sunglasses that you can wear down your local course in the summer, as well as on the beach, then these are a fine option. They work visually with casual wear but also golf gear. Their not too overstated and look like they belong on a golf course.

I have no complaints about how they felt, their lightweight frame wasn’t distracting when hitting at all. Performance wise, overall, they had no negative impact over my game and apart from the tinted visualls I kind of forgot I was wearing them.

NCG Verdict

Overall, these were a joy to wear. For competitive and casual golfers a like, Nike offer a great option for golfers looking for some protection against the sun during sunny rounds. If you are wanting to get your moneys worth from your golf sunglasses then, you will quite easily be able to wear them outside of golf.

About the author

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
