With its innovative, compact design and solid build, this trolley is easy to transport and performs well. Small details like accessories and elastic cords are minor negatives in an otherwise impressive package.

Big Max is a popular brand manufacturing high quality and innovative golf carts and bags. The company was launched in 1994 and focused on innovative golf trolley design in Europe. In 1997 it launched the first 3 wheeled trolley and have since that time has led the way in trolley designs with subsequent further expansion of their business into golf bags in Europe and globally. 2026 sees the release of their new and improved three wheel trolley. Check out the Big Max Blade Trio Trolley review below as I run you through the pros and cons of the product.

NCG Summary

4.5 star review

NCG Summary

The Blade Trio trolley impressed with its lightweight, sturdy build, quick setup, and compact fold.

Storage and transport was effortless.

Despite some minor concerns about the elastic cords and the absence of included accessories, the trolley’s performance and thoughtful design make it a valuable investment for golfers seeking convenience and reliability.

PROS

  • Innovative and well constructed
  • Relatively light weight
  • Flat fold for better storage
  • Unfolds easily in seconds
  • Rolls true out to the box

CONS

  • The elasticated bag cords could be sturdier! Particularly the lower one.
  • Lack of accessories included

First Impressions

I have not previously owned a Big Max push cart and was not sure what to expect, but given its pedigree in golf trolley design I was not surprised that out of the box the trolley was folded flat which was novel.

The only bit of assembly involved clicking the 2 rear wheels in! The instructions were very helpful to figure out how to unfold the trolley but this step was very easy once said knob was located!

The Blade Trio is light weight, sturdy, looks stable and rolls well and appears very well made and designed. The push handle is well padded with thick foam and likely to last the life of the trolley.

The elasticated bag cords are easy to adjust but could be more sturdy particularly the lower one.

The trolley accommodated the Big Max Dry Lite Tour 2 bag easily and securely.

There is a compartment for scorecards etc and fixation points for an umbrella, water bottle and GPS holders.

On course performance

The trolley stored quite compactly in the boot of my car and unfolded in seconds. The Blade Trio is meant to be 40% more compact than other trolleys and weighs in at 6.7kg,  making transport to and from the car easy.

My cart bag fitted in nicely ,and the cart and bag rolled effortlessly and in a straight line without the need for any adjustments. Adjustments are possible at the front wheel with the key provided.

I tested the trolley on my local course which is relatively flat apart from 2 holes with moderate inclines.  The trolley performed very well and managing inclines was trouble free.

The foot brake is simple but works well and is quite effective. This trolley’s performance will easily negotiate all terrains without problems . Winter golf often provides some muddy conditions underfoot and of course trolley wheels can accumulate more than their fair share! Not a problem with this trolley, the wheels click off easily to allow cleaning before storing the trolley in your preferred storage space.

Final Thoughts

I was very pleased with this trolley! It performed well, it innovative design and flat storage being only 20cm thick means that it stores easily in lockers, car boots or garage without occupying much space.

The trolley is very well constructed which is what you would expect from a market leader. There are accessories that you can get – drinks holder, umbrella and GPS holders which, unfortunately, have to be purchased separately!

In today’s world of increased competition, car manufactures for example, try to lure customers with all manner of accessories at no additional cost – this does not seem to be the case with this golf trolley! At around £250, one would hope accessories would be included.

That slight annoyance apart this trolley is a keeper!
