This is quite a departure. Some said the G15 and G20 hybrids resembled an oversized big toe – but the G25 is a completely different story.
While performance is everything in Ping’s eyes, there is no doubt that the company have started paying much more attention to the looks as well. And this is a great-looking hybrid.
Ping admit that it is actually slightly less forgiving than the G20 in certain areas, notably on extreme toe hits. But this slight compromise is surely worth it for the way the club looks behind the ball.
It’s neutral, it’s classy and it sounds solid. I got a high flight but without that undesirable ballooning at the end that is best avoided.

Ping say: “The CG position is lower and farther back in the lower-lofted hybrids and progresses slightly forward in the higher lofts to help minimize spin and prevent ballooning (common in higher-lofted hybrids).
“Generous camber heel-to-toe and sole relief ensure playability and solid contact from all types of lies. A large hitting surface and thin face perimeter provide forgiveness and high ball speeds.”
