If you are intending to spend north of a £1000 when buying a launch monitor, then you are looking to seriously invest in and improve your game.

You’re expecting laser-like precision, the very best technology and perhaps most importantly, you’re expecting all the necessary data to help elevate your game.

It’s fair to say the modern golfer is more data-driven than ever before. That’s where launch monitors come in and specifically, the Square Golf Omni Launch Monitor.

For the professionals, they are an essential part of their practice routines and for the rest of us, they are a great way of seeking improvement.

The rise of home simulators and portable tech has opened the door for golfers to take their practice more seriously, and take it home with them.

The Square Golf Omni Launch Monitor is the standout option and here’s why…

A true all-rounder

It’s important to know where you are most likely to use your launch monitor before buying one.

Some excel indoors but struggle in natural light. Others are built for the range but lack the precision needed for simulator play. But finding one that excels at both is a rarity.

The Square Golf Omni Launch Monitor avoids that compromise and performs just as well outdoors and indoors. It is designed to work seamlessly in both environments, offering the flexibility many golfers demand.

The changing elements can throw up quite the challenge for a lot of launch monitors to handle. But the Omni is designed to handle anything from strong winds to differing quality of turf for a more efficient use out on the range.

Tour-level accuracy

Accuracy is the one area golfers need perfection when it comes to launch monitors. There is little point in having a long list of metrics about your game if you can’t trust them.

The Omni focuses on delivering the numbers that are going to help see improvements on the course that hold tour-level accuracy. After all, if you want to play like a tour player, you must first practice like a tour player.

Four high-speed infrared cameras ensure users are privy to highly accurate ball and club data.

Additionally, this is a launch monitor that uses photometric tracking to deliver more realistic feedback.

A built-in simulator

Free built-in simulator software means the Square Golf Omni launch monitor offers a more immersive experience.

Having this software enables it to be more than just another practice tool. It blends the entertainment golf can bring with serious improvement.

The Omni does this by giving players the opportunity to take advantage of four different game modes – driving range, putting, closest to the pin and course play. Equally, golfers get 1000 free credits to play built-in golf courses.

All these features allow golfers to play virtual rounds, take on famous courses, all to structure practice in a far more engaging way.

And unlike other launch monitors, the Omni from Square doesn’t require any form of subscription or additional ongoing costs.

Simple to set-up and easy to use

Whenever technology is involved, there is always a strong possibility that things can get complicated. Some launch monitors can feel overly technical or even fiddly, but this keeps things straightforward.

A built-in screen displays key bits of data instantly. You won’t need to link-up a phone or tablet to get this feedback.

There is also no need to alter your practice, with no markings required on your golf balls.

This ease of use shouldn’t be underestimated. The more accessible a device is, the more you’ll use it and the more enjoyable it will be.

About the author

Max Mcvittie

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Having studied at the University of Sunderland, Max is starting out his dream career in sports journalism. During his time at university, he picked up valuable work experience at Reach PLC, BBC Radio Cumbria and GiveMeSport, whilst also getting work published in the Teesside Live. He also spent time working at a local weekly newspaper, Eskdale and Liddesdale Advertiser, as a general news reporter partially covering some local sport just north of the border in Langholm.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
