Mizuno M Craft City Putter Series: Everything You Need To Know!

Mizuno are a brand known more for their irons than for their putters, but their M Craft range has been quite the hit. Know they have expanded their marquee putter line-up with the introduction of the City putter series.

This collection of forged putters is inspired by the character, craftsmanship, and balance of Japan’s most iconic cities – all which are stops on the infamous ‘Bullet Train’. Mizuno believes the City Series reflects a new creative direction built on four guiding principles.

Here’s everything you need to know about what makes the new Mizuno M Craft Putter Series reconnect with the company’s heritage of precise engineering, pure feedback and timeless craftsmanship…

At the heart of these putters are a focus on sound and feel. Each head is forged in Japan from Pure Select 1025E Mild Carbon Steel, a material chosen for its softness and responsiveness.

This is paired with a Copper Underlay which has been introduced to specifically create the softest and most responsive feel Mizuno has achieved to date in any of their putters.

A newly refined Deep Face Milling pattern has also been crafted. This is something that works in harmony with the Copper Underlay to produce a smoother roll and a more pure sound upon impact for increased feedback.

Any harsh vibrations have been removed for all of these new putters. Mizuno has used sour analysis to tune the head’s frequency profile which creates a more satirising strike tour players, in particular, look for.

Accuracy is also at the forefront of innovation for the M Craft City putter series. A subtle top-edge alignment decal appears across all City Series models.

This provides a more effective visual guide to help increase confidence on the putting greens.

In terms of looks, each putter is finished in either Grey Ion or Nickel for a more durable look.

Mizuno has expanded their M.Craft putter line-up with four new putters; the Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo putters.

Kyoto

Mizuno M Craft City Putter Series

Looks: A traditional blade look.

Main Attributes: This model embodies traditional Mizuno blade DNA. It features a toe-biased blade for better control and connection.

Osaka

Mizuno M Craft City Putter Series

Looks: A traditional blade look.

Main Attributes: Its shorter heel-to-toe length and wide blade stance provide confidence at address, while perimeter weighting enhances MOI without sacrificing feedback.

Nagoya

Mizuno M Craft City Putter Series

Looks: A mid-mallet design.

Main Attributes: It is designed to deliver a more solid strike and better stability from enhanced perimeter weighting.

Tokyo

Looks: A mid-mallet design.

Main Attributes: It is more compact than the Nagoya putter and is therefore more preferable for the posits amongst you.

A bit of a late bloomer to the game of golf, Max fell in love with the sport when he attended Saturday coaching sessions down at his local golf club after being inspired by friends and family members.

Max has remained a member of Eden Golf Club in Carlisle for a number of years now as he looks to get his handicap down into single figures. Most of his golfing career has been spent battling a permanent slice off the tee, which has led to some ugly rounds.

Max has just started his journey with the NCG working as the assistant equipment editor. He looks forwarded to reviewing the latest golf equipment, taking up an interest in reviews when buying his first golf club, a Cleveland RTX wedge.

With his bag not going under too many changes throughout the last few years, Max carries an M3 driver, Titleist GT3 Fairway Wood, M2 hybrid, a set of M2 irons, Callaway Jaws wedges and a TaylorMade Spider putter. And yes, Max is a bit of a self-proclaimed TaylorMade fan boy.
