Best Oscar Jacobson Apparel

Greylands
Waterproof Jacket

5 star review

RRP £159.99

After trying multiple waterproof jackets for the season ahead. The Oscar Jacobson Greylands option is by far my favourite. Lightweight, highly breathable and has an excellent design.

I tested the jacket over a couple of rounds and whilst I don’t particularly enjoy playing golf in the rain, for round 1  it did make for suitable testing conditions for the Greyland jacket!

The garment performed excellently, the taped seams and waterproof zipper kept me perfectly dry. Performance when playing wasn’t affected, despite being so water-tight there is ample mobility from the top to bottom of my swing.

Personally, I am a fan of plainer colours on the golf course, so this black and grey option was very easy on the eye. Additionally, the subtle OJ branding on the front and back, and hidden zipped pockets give the product a very premium and clean finish.

Another helpful addition is the velcro straps on either side of the jacket are great for adjusting the tightness of the jacket around your stomach area.

Pros

  • Stylish
  • Extremely water resistant
  • Wearable for golf and day-to-day life

Cons

  • No inside pocket

Sizes: S-XXXL
Colours: Black/ Pewter & Blue / Cobalt

Portland
Waterproof trouser

4 star review

RRP £99

The Oscar Jacobson Portland waterproof trousers are ideal for the imminent wet weather golf season. Fully taped seams and waterproof zippers are built in for perfect water resistance.

I tested the black version but they are also available in navy, There is plenty of storage with two large front pockets and the same on the back. The detail on the trousers is excellent, elasticated waistband with belt loops to adjust easily for the us. Similarly on the cuffs of the trousers there is a large zip and two buttons to adjust the cuff size to make it nice and easy to slip your trousers on if you get caught short with some bad weather.

I personally prefer slimmer fit trousers so saying they are baggy may be unfair, however the bottom half of the trouser does flare out a little more than I would prefer. That is just personal preference and overall, the trousers have a really clean design and are very practical.

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Warm
  • Smart

Cons

  • Quite a wide fit

Sizes: S-XXL
Colours: Black / Navy

Douglas
Winter Trouser

4.5 star review

RRP £79.99

The Douglas water-repellent trousers are also an upcoming release for the Autumn Winter Oscar Jacobson apparel. They are lightweight, with four-way stretch fabric making mobility really easy.

The coating beads water away from the trousers to ensure they stay dry throughout your round and in the clubhouse afterwards. I had no issues manoeuvring around the rough or leaning down to read putts, they were nice and forgiving around my legs and waist.

The pocket space was also very helpful, with two large front pockets and the same on the back of the trousers. I personally would prefer a slimmer-fitting trouser, they fit great for the top half, but I would prefer a slimmer finish around the ankle. However, if you prefer the loose fit then these are ideal for you.

Overall, a good addition to the trouser collection, looks smart and effective for staying dry on the course.

Pro’s

  • Really good fit
  • Smart
  • Good pocket space

Con’s

  • Slightly flared at the cuff

Sizes: 30’’- 42’’ waist
Colours: Black / Navy / Charcoal / Dark Lunar grey

 Hackney Jacket Lunar

5 star review

RRP £129.99

The Oscar Jacobson Hackney jacket was a joy to wear. It is extremely stylish, versatile and a great addition to the wardrobe.

It is designed so it can be worn all year around which offers great value for any golfer.

The lightly padded top half of the jacket is water repellent, and the full zip is water repellent, making it a great option for any light showers. The material is also wind-resistant which gives you even more protection against the cold winter weather.

When wearing this during my round, I had excellent mobility for my full golf swing, the thinner material on the arms had a slim fit but didn’t restrict movement, and the whole feel of the product was extremely comfortable for the entire round.

Overall I really like this product, a sure staple for any golf trip where I am unsure of the weather ahead. It looks great both on and off the golf course, and I can’t think of any downside!

PROS

  • Clean design
  • Wearable on and off the golf course
  • Comfortable and warm

CONS

  • None

Sizes: S-XXXL
Colour: Navy / Black / Lunar Grey

Quinn
Gilet

4.5 star review

RRP £99.99

The Oscar Jacobson Quinn gilet was a delight to wear. Lightweight, water repellent fabric, and extremely comfortable. It is a great cross-over garment to use on a cooler day or for those brave enough to take on winter golf on those particularly chilly occasions.

The padded upper body is both a stylish and practical to keep nice and warm whilst looking great on the course. It is also ideal as an addition for in and around the clubhouse or just day to day use.

We tested the product on a cool day with a slight breeze which was ideal for the Quinn gilet. As expected, playing shots was no problem, plenty of mobility across the arms and chest as well as large storage pockets to look after your personal belongings.

Additionally, it wrapped up nice and easily to fit into the main pocket of my golf bag when it did get a little warmer.

Pros

  • Extremely comfortable and warm
  • Great looking product for on and off the course
  • Zipped pockets to look after your valuables

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Personally, would prefer an inside pocket

Sizes: S-XXL
Colours: Navy, Black, Lunar Grey

Hamilton
Base Layer

4.5 star review

RRP £44.99

The Hamilton base-layer is a great option for any golfer looking to brave the winter golf. There is multiple colours available, and it fits great under your other winter garments.

Made from a lightweight technical fabric blend making it very comfortable and soft along with perfect mobility on your golf swing. I barely noticed I was wearing it when out on the golf course nor the chilly temperatures we played in. It is also looks very smart with a variety of golf apparel so can be combined with multiple layers or a single polo if you don’t like wearing jackets or jumpers when you play.

The Oscar Jacobson branding is also cleverly placed, easy to see what brand it is without being too invasive on the eye. Overall, it was ideal for a base-layer. A great option for when it is particularly chilly, looks really smart, and felt comfortable.

Pros

  • Comfortable
  • Stylish
  • Excellent colour options

Cons

  • None

RRP:

Sizes: S-XXXL

Colours: White / Pewter / Black / navy

Oakways Hoodie Jumper

5 star review

RRP £79.99

The Oscar Jacobson Oakways pull-over hoody is a great option for any golfer. Wearable on and off the golf course and looks smart. It feels great out on the golf course, works well as a layer for other garments and also extremely comfortable.

I prefer a hoody that sits tight to your neck and keeps everything out the way, especially when hitting golf shots. The adjustable toggle also assists with this.

Mobility wasn’t an issue either, whilst being slim fit it didn’t feel tight, and the material was stretchy enough to move and swing freely.

My only small qualm is I personally prefer a cleaner style instead of the mixture of colours across the body and arms – but that is just personal preference.

The marl sleeves are a cool addition, and I also like the general Oscar Jacobson branding across all the products this year. They all present subtly but are still obvious as to what brand it is you’re wearing.

PROS

  • Comfortable
  • Great for on and off the golf course

CONS

  • Design may not be for everybody

Sizes: S-XXXL
Colour: Black or Navy

Austin Quarter Zip Mid-Layer

4.5 star review
best winter golf jumpers

RRP £69.99

Oscar Jacobson have just recently released the Austin quarter zip. An ideal cross-over garment for multiple weather conditions.

Lightweight, breathable and finished with premium Oscar Jacobson style. I tested the Austin on a sunny, but cool and breezy day which was ideal conditions for it.

Extremely lightweight so was accompanied well with a gilet and also a great option for some nice sunny weather but protects you from any breeze. It rolls up very easily so can be packed into your golf bag as insurance for the weather ahead or a nice comfortable addition to your outfit from the first tee.

The mobility of the garment was no issue, it allowed a full swing across all my clubs and didn’t get snagged on my golf bag with any excess material. Overall, a great garment to be added to your collection, It looks great on and off the course and is extremely comfortable.

PROS

  • Lightweight
  • Stylish
  • Stows away easily

CONS

  • Expensive

Sizes: S-3XL
Colours: Navy, Black, Pewter & Cobalt

 Highbank Windbreaker

5 star review
best golf windbreakers

RRP £99.99

I am a huge fan of this Oscar Jacobson Highbank jacket. A full-zip hybrid jacket that can be used all year round.

The detailing around the design of the Highbank is really impressive, with subtle branding of OJ on the front and a really cool design on the inside of the jacket. The true knit sleeves are a great addition, making it very easy to slip on and off before and after the round and very comfortable to wear throughout the day.

The pockets are easy access on the side but don’t have zips, which would be my only qualm.

Playing golf in it was no issue. All of the Oscar Jacobson apparel being released was excellent to play in. It has perfect mobility for all types of swing and really comfortable.

Overall, it is one of my favourite additions for the Autumn/Winter golf ahead. It is lightweight enough to work with multiple layers. An excellent overall design.

PROS

  • Extremely stylish
  • Can be used in multiple conditions
  • Very comfortable

CONS

  • No zip pockets

Sizes: S – XXXL
Colour: Black and Navy

Oscar Jacobson Tammis Bobble Hat

5 star review

RRP £21.99

The Oscar Jacobson Tammis bobble hat is ideal for the upcoming wintery conditions. A well-designed comfortable hat to help keep you warm throughout your round.

I really like the colours available and the marl contrast to look stylish without being too eye catchy. Despite being thick it still rolls up nice and easily to slip into the side pocket of your bag when no longer required.

Overall, I am really happy with the Tammis bobble hat. It looks great on the course, off the course, feels very comfortable and keeps you as warm as needed. This will be getting lots of wear time out on the golf course this winter.

  • Comfortable
  • Warm
  • Smart

CONS

  • None

Colour: Black Marl / Navy Marl /Lunar Grey Marl / China Blue Marl

Winter
Mittens

best winter golf mittens

RRP £31.99

Whilst nobody wants to admit it, winter golf is just around the corner. Today I got the pleasure of testing the Oscar Jacobson winter mitts. Whilst the weather was cool and perhaps didn’t warrant a pair of mitts, they were still great to try.

Firstly, they look great, plain colour with some stylish Oscar Jacobson branding. Really easy to keep together thanks to the helpful clip to keep them as a pair. The knitted cuff with wind resistant fabric made it extremely easy to slip them on and off when preparing for a golf shot or putting them back into your bag if no longer required. The anti-slip resistant palm is a nice addition to the mitts as well, the grippy material was ideal to keep hold of your belongings instead of juggling your phone, tees and balls through cotton mitts.

All in all, a really nice addition to your golfing wardrobe. Perfect for winter golf and even outside of the golf course when the winter weather arrives.

PROS:

  • Warm & comfortable
  • Anti slip material in the palm
  • Small clips to keep them together

CONS:

  • None

Colours:  Navy, Black

Oscar Jacobson Gio Print Dual Canopy Umbrella

4.5 star review

RRP £34.99

The Oscar Jacobson Umbrella performed exactly as expected. Really simple to expand out quickly, really smart looking and lightweight. The 64’’ diameter allows plenty of room to keep yourself and your clubs dry whether you clip it to your trolley or hold it whilst shoulder carrying your clubs. The quick release button is a useful feature to save time when popping it up to guard against the quick power shower that wasn’t expected. Oscar Jacobson have done a great job in giving this product a real premium finish. The lighweight fibreglass frame, contoured grip on the handle and the standout but smart OJ branding gives the umbrella a really classy finish. Once packed away it fits neatly into your bag or trolley, and looks smart alongside your clubs. My only slight negative feedback for the product would be that it didn’t slide into its sleeve that easily, but aside from that it was ideal.

PROS:

  • Smart Design
  • Helpful pop up mechanism

CONS:

  • Slightly tricky feeding it back into the sleeve

Colours: Black

After an in-depth look at Oscar Jacobson’s winter apparel, it’s clear that the brand effortlessly marries form and function. Each piece, whether it be an insulated jacket or thermal trousers, is constructed with a keen understanding of the unique demands that winter places on golfers. Innovative technologies, such as moisture-wicking fabrics and thermal insulation, ensure that you stay comfortable and dry, allowing you to focus solely on your game.

Oscar Jacobson’s meticulous attention to style ensures that you not only feel good but also look good on the course. Their winter range is a testament to the brand’s reputation for quality and aesthetics, making it an excellent choice for any golfer who refuses to compromise on either. So go ahead, elevate your winter game with the best that Oscar Jacobson has to offer.
